angryFAKE NEWS: VP never discussed case Ihedioha – Presidency

The Presidency has dismissed reports that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo discussed Supreme Court ruling on Imo governorship election when he visited the state for a private event.

Prof Osinbajo and his wife Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo had on 9 January visited Imo state to attend the burial of Pastor Ebenezer Ewuzie, the Rector of Redeemer’s International Leadership Academy, at Okwelle, Onuimo Local Goverment Area, Imo State.

He was received at the airport by Governor Emeka Ihedioha before proceeding to the venue of the burial.

But shortly after the Supreme Court ruling on Tuesday that annulled the governorship of Mr Ihedioha some persons peddled fake news claiming that the Vice President had warned the governor of his impending sack by the court.

In response to the fake news, Laolu Akande, the spokesperson to the Vice President tweeted that no such conversation held between the two men.

“I have seen reports suggesting that VP Osinbajo had a discussion with former Gov. Ihedioha about the Imo guber case in the Supreme Court when he visited Imo last week.

“This is false and mischievous. The VP went to Imo for a private event and no such discussions took place. Besides, it is completely out of character for the VP to discuss on-going court cases with interested parties, with insinuations of illegal and unethical conspiracies.

“Please ignore such fake reports wherever you may find it. Outright fabrication!

Jackson Ude is known for fake news and blackmail. I still wonder how he got into Jonathan's government as Director of Communications.
