Over a thousand people received Free Medical Services during the 7th edition of the Free Medical Outreach sponsored by the Marcel Ofomata Foundation in Anambra state over the week.

The Medical Mission that had ImaBridge Africa, USA as her major partner featured Free Major/Minor Surgical Operations, Medical Consultations, Diagnosis treatment, counseling, and referrals conditions. The medical team attended to various conditions such as malaria, Enteric fever, Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Arthritis, Heart failures, Urinary tract infections, Malnutrition, Fungal skin infections, bacterial infections, Upper Respiratory tract infections, Asthma, and lots of other ailments. Also carried out during the missions were Free Eye Check, presentation of Glasses and Ophthalmic preparations, Blood Pressure/General Body Check-up, HIV counseling, testing and enrollment of positive clients on ART, free blood sugar check, Hepatitis B, C, and Veneral Diseases Research Laboratory (VDRL) Counselling, testing, treatment, and deferrals.

A report card from the Medical Directorate Of the Marcel Ofomata Foundation shows that over 460 people and 531 people received free medical services on the first and second days of the missions respectively. 24 people had surgical indications and were successfully operated upon with degrees of free major, minor surgical operations and mesh body repairs. The report shows that the 7th edition of the outreach recorded the highest number of beneficiaries and impacts since the beginning of the Medical Mission in the State.

The Medical Outreach held on the 14th, 15th and 16th January 2020 at the Primary Health Care Centre, Ozalla, Isuofia, Anambra State for beneficiaries in Anambra state and neighboring South Eastern states that trooped to the venue to take advantage of the opportunity.

The outreach had in attendance the Traditional Ruler Of Isuofia Kingdom - Igwe (Col.) Christopher A. Muoghalu, Rtd, Red Cross Society, Anambra State Council, Leadership Of Age Grades, Media partners, Security Groups among others. Our statistical review after the Outreach also shows that women account for 51% while men and children account for 33% and 16% respectively of the total number of people that benefited.

There was a closing ceremony and dinner at the residence of the Founder of Marcel Ofomata Foundation - Dr. Marcel Ofomata In Isuofia which featured presentation of Certificates Of Volunteerism to members of the medical team, and other Volunteers that have been serving humanity through the Foundation as well as Cultural variety by the Marcel Ofomata Young Dance Crew among others.

Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview, the Founder of Marcel Ofomata Foundation who doubles as the Chairman of Amaecom Group of companies expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the Foundation to her partner - ImaBridge Africa, United States of America, his strategic team, over 40 Medical Missionaries and volunteers including Surgeons and other Health Workers for committing their resources and professionalism to the service of humanity through the Foundation. Also appreciated are the Anambra state government, Isuofia Community led by His Royal Majesty, Igwe (Col.) Christopher A. Muoghalu, Rtd, media partners, management of Primary Health Care Centre - Ozalla Isuofia, The Red Cross Society, Anambra State Council, the Marcel Ofomata Young Dance Crew, the Security team among others.

It is worthy to add that the Marcel Ofomata Foundation have undertaken other intervention and developmental programmes in the country including Academic Scholarship (up to university levels), Women Empowerment/revolving Seed Loan for rural women, Skills Acquisition Programmes for the youths, Sports Development, creation of employment opportunities through business concerns, Direct Mentorship Scheme for younger generation among others.

Dr. Ofomata who is a Harvard trained and global entrepreneur, as well as a serial philanthropist, has expressed optimism that the Foundation is disposed to holistically impacting humanity but called for more mutual partnership so that no one is left behind in line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
