And how would reporting to the police address the extent of damage? Is the police equipped with facilities to detect the extent of the damage?

Note, I'm not saying the matter shouldn't be reported to the police, but that is not the responsibility of the hospital at that moment because they were making efforts to save her life. That should have been done by her family members or friends.

If the police are so concerned about reports by hospitals, they should send a police man permanently to all hospitals waiting for such victims to be brought in ( that sounds ridiculous to you , and so does the expectation that the staff should go report to them at night) or perhaps the local police stations should circulate all their phone numbers to hospitals around their vicinty.

can you put sentiments aside now and re-read the post? The hospital was suppose to treat AND call the police. Nobody arrested the owner for treating the patience but for not calling the attention of the police because it is a criminal case

Stop defending the indefensible friend. They admitted her twice! That was pure negligence. I'm even surprised that the police are not arresting them for handling a case that was beyond their capacity of giving the first aid before referring.

yes they should circulate their numbers. But that will not save the owner of that hospital from problems now, in fact they will start investigating and calling other bodies to check if they have all valid papers etc. The hospital could have saved their selves from these issues instead of being victim

Bro.......forget that talk, even my dad has the personal phone number of The DPO of our area police station.......... The owner of the clinic must be big enough to have such numbers, I'm not talking about emergency line here.
The issue here is not that they treated the lady but what happens the next day.........why didn't anyone reach out to the police, or you advice any of her family members around to so.

This will only worsen the issue of hospitals abandoning victims to die because they don't have police reports. To be honest, that requirement is barbaric and makes no sense. In saner climes, everyone, including criminals are treated or at the very least, stabilized first and then handed over to appropriate government agencies if need be.

I was just about to say this, but on the other hand, they should have reported the case to the police as well because it shows the hospital did not properly check the level of damage done by be stabbings. Perhaps they just applied bandage and covering the wounds. There would have been an internal injury which abruptly ended the lady's life.
