The world was on pause yesterday Sunday, 26th of Janaury, 2020 after news broke that popular professional basketball player, Kobe Bryant had died in a helicopter crash alongside his 13-year-old daughter.

The news affected a lot of people across the world including presidents, businessmen, his colleagues, footballers, musicians, comedians, to mention a few. So many of them have reached out to their respective social media pages to express their feelings over the sad end of the talented athlete.
He was reported to have died with seven others in his private helicopter.

However, in the midst of all these, below are five painful things and things you never knew about the Kobe Bryant, the self acclaimed black mamba


1 He was named after a beef : His name ‘Kobe’ was given to him by his parents. The name was a famous beef in Japan, they gave him the name after they saw it on a restaurant menu

2 Started playing basketball at age 3: Everyone knows Kobe was a very talented basketball player. It would have been a shame if he hadn’t gotten the kind of recognition he had because he started playing basketball at age 3.

3 He married a 19 year old lady : Maybe Kobe was too much in love with this lady who later became his wife. By name Vannessa, he met her when she was just 17 in 1999, when he was 21. They started dating and got engaged six months later. He later got married to her in 2001. The marriage was a definition of hell as non of his family member supported it reason being that he was too young and the lady wasn’t American-African.

4 Accused of sexual assault : Almost every celebrity go through this phase, in 2003, the athlete was accused of sexual assault but the charges was later dropped after the plaintiff failed to testify in court

5 He has a daughter who is 8-Months old : Kobe happen to have left a baby behind, so painful. He just welcomed a baby girl just 8 months before his death.
