Well, even if it's not 100% , i am proud of what this government especially Minister of transport is achieving so far

This administration is probably not going to take the glory for this beauty , but it will forever be in the history books , the investment alone is making some engineers very rich , transport / shipping companies are getting richer , the ones who complain all the time are idiots who sit behind computer all day just to complain

Nigeria will be great again , but it will have to start somewhere and THIS IS SOMEWHERE !!!

The ones scammed by the enchanter OP with his paparazzi 3D models aren’t idiots

We thank almighty God for this.

May God in His mercy help us solve the insecurity problems in Nigeria.

You thank God for the free Lagos-Abeokuta train rides since February last year or for what are you thanking God

They're building the railway lines to help the igbos transport their goods easier grin

Since Dangote is not Igbo, he continues to buy trucks for killing more southerners and blocking traffic in Lagos.
Is Dangote saying that Amaechi and his enchanter OP are bloody liars

This is a welcome development,

Transport Infrastructure is very important to the transportation of trade and commerce within cities or towns.

Bearing in mind how precarious and dangeroud Lagos Ibadan expressway is.

Just jump on the train and in 1 hour you are in Ibadan

Im so excited for this.

Very smart entreprenouers would start looking for land now around the final stop of the station in Ibadan, things such as hotels, malls, shopping centres can easily pop up there.

Imagine leaving lagos the same day to go shopping in ibadan and return back the same day by train. This is how big cities were built

In DJ Khaled's voice, you're smart. I swear, this has been on my mind since last year. So many investment opportunities will be created with this rail project. I can't wait till it is completed... interesting times ahead.

What's the fuss about now?

No, they are not, I watched one of the test run on channel TV, a journey from Lagos to Ibadan took 4 hrs thats almost the same as using the road considering traffic, Lagos to Ibadan is 2 hrs without traffic. It will be more beneficial for transportation of goods and commuting of those that can afford to pay for road transportation.

Like people are blaming GEJ now that he did too much in the North and too little in the South.
Before May 2015 Amaechi denied that GEJ did any trainline in SE/SS. Even though the line passed almost the backyard of Amaechi.

Amaechi only admitted after he became Minister. Claiming he didn't know before. He was now commissioning train just month after becoming minister, the work of GEJ.

He will reap what he sewed.

Chinese invasion kor! The Brits, Americans, French are ripping us off till this day with little or nothing to show for it. Tell me how many infrastructures have the west built for us in this century. Do you even know why the crude oil found in Nigeria still cannot be refined in Nigeria? It is crystal clear the Chinese do have their agenda but at least they're building / wholly or partly funding infrastructural developments across Africa, South America, in the Pacific...Stop spewing the white man's narratives. If our leaders are smart, the Chinese would not outwit them in any negotiations regarding loans and terms of payments.

P.S: I'm not a fan of Buhari but in all honesty I commend the work he, Ameachi and their team are doing in the railway sector.

Are these speed trains? If they are, then this initiative will seriously decongest some parts of Lagos. Imagine living in Abeokuta and you can get to CMS under one hour, or Ibadan, Ore, Oyo and you can get to CMS/Obalende in 50 mins to an hour. Not only will it improve the distribution of wealth, traffic will lessen in Lagos and govt will earn revenue.

They shouldn't bring trains that will use 5 hours from Ibadan to Lagos, they'll be pretty useless
grin grin cheesy shocked omg!! What? That would not happen naaa

Sorry, but credit does NOT belong to this government - alone....

The 25-Year Rail Development Masterplan was the brainchild of the Obasanjo administration...
While the initial financing (loans) were secured and contracts were awarded by the Jonathan administration.

This is an apt epitome of government being a CONTINUUM...
Even the Itakpe-Ajaokuta line was conceived and construction begun under the Shagari and IBB administrations.

Why are thanking "the Chinese people"? Is it free or charity?
Your children will be repaying the loans taken for these rail projects.

I am more ashamed fmof you after scrolling through your post. u never made the same observations during the length n breath of 16 years of pdp. People like you will be stoned to death if I was the president.

Seriously, do we need Chinese companies to build railways lines and rail stations? I can understand the importation of Chinese locomotives, but rail construction is basic civil engineering.

We should be ashamed that 60 years after independent, we can't operate refineries, steel plants or operate and maintain our roads and rail networks.

The Chinese government's Exim bank is giving you billions of dollars of low-interest loans at about 2-3% interest rate...
On the specific condition that you use Chinese contractors - after all, the money they are giving belongs to Chinese taxpayers!

They are just TEST-RUNNING those trains, but the trains will not be high-speed (that is, 200-250+ km/h)...
Nonetheless, the trains will have speed capacity of up to 150 km/h, but will likely run at 120km/h (like the Abuja-Kaduna line).
