All these local champions, they'll not stay in their shithole and stop disgracing naija.
I would have expected him to win only if it was a kanja competition.

World Music is a demeaning category. It was created I believe to blunt the impact of African music on the world stage. Before its inception, artists from Mali and Senegal (Senegal = Youssou N'Dour& Baaba Maal; Mali= Salif Keita & Ali Farka Touré; Gunean= Mory Kanté ) had burst onto the international stage, their music threatening a new black music dominance of popular culture following decades of African American music dominance of popular music culture. It is ironic that although white people control the economics of black music their obsession with race wouldn’t let them simply enjoy the benefits of that control without also wanting to see the music which they perceive as of white origin – genres such as Rock, Punk, Heavy metal, Country – being dominant and the influencer of popular culture. Unfortunately, for them Rock, Punk, etc were on the wane by the 70’s and 80’s at least relative to Soul and Rap music. On top of this, African music from Mali and Senegal was rising in the world. The white economic powers behind black music could not bare this and, desperate, they would have settled for the rise of any form of music that was not of African/black origin. In the 80’s they tried to push music from Asia to the forefront – stars like (I forget his name) from Pakistan and others from India. They also tried to push Latina Music to some extent. Ricky Martin would later rise to popularity in the late 90's and early 2000's threathning a latin revoilution. Anyway, failing, they decided to, at one stroke, undermine the rising power of African Music from Senegal and Mali and empower the failing music of Asia by lumping them all under the ambiguous and general term World Music.

Music lovers and genuine content critics like myself would have given up on the credibility and essence of the Grammy Awards if another undeserving artiste had won this.

Sentiments aside, Nigeria is yet to replicate another Fela Kuti in the global music sphere.

Fela is the only Nigerian deserving of a Grammy.

Because music is not about dancesteps or groupie trends but about a movement, a message, reawakening a consciousness and yet the melody from real musical instruments.

This is a reality lost on today's Nigerian artistes aside from Asá who still lacks in consistency.

As an African act, till your music can be accepted by Pastors, Imams, Youths, elders, global leaders, United Nations and illiterates, then you stand a chance of being an African Album or winning a foreign award in Music.

Nigeria and Nigerians must understand that club bangers do not translate to foreign awards in global music

Grammy is overhyped crap. Why was fela not given a grammy when he was alive. Why has he not been given in legend category even in death. These foreign awards are a mockery of our local talents
