The President of a Canada based NGO, United Share-Life Outreach, Reverend Jude Dike, on Tuesday, 28 January, 2020 paid courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Alex- Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Nigeria, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba, to familiarize with the University Management and reassure the continued support of the International nonprofit organization. The visitors were first received at the office of the University Guidance Counsellor, Dr. Ngozi Nwudu, in the presence of Mr. Chris Uwadoka, Director, Center for Assistance Management, Partnership and Training (CEDAMPAT), before proceeding to the office of the Deputy Vice – Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Sunday Elom, who received the President and the National Coordinator of the organization, on behalf of the Vice – Chancellor, who was out of the state on official assignment.

Presenting the guests to Prof. Sunday Elom, Dr. Nwudu pointed out that she knew about the organization in Lagos during one of the programmes they hosted there and thereafter requested for their support to the University, to which they gladly accepted. Consequently, the organization visited the University sometime in March, 2019, to donate medical equipment, quantity of malaria, blood pressure and asthma drugs, wheel Chairs, eyeglasses, among other items. Dr. Nwudu further said that she got another call from the President, Rev. Dike, asking her to put together a list of hospital equipment needed in the school clinic, so he could make provision for some, which was one of the reasons they visited.

Prof. Sunday Elom welcomed the guests, saying it is rare to find an NGO willing to donate to a Federal University. He appreciated the NGO for remembering the University at the time of scarcity, adding that the University is grateful while wishing them well and prayed God to bless them. He further thanked Dr. Nwudu for bringing the NGO to AE-FUNAI.

In his remarks, Rev. Dike said he is grateful for the warm reception given to them adding that he has the pleasure to associate himself with the University and that he is willing and glad to provide support to the young University, to the glory of God.
