Members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) are embarking on prayer walk across the country tomorrow to express displeasure at the “gruesome killings of innocent people in the country.”

The action is also to pray for “the government to develop capacity to overcome the criminals troubling the nation.”

Consequently, all parishes of the church have been enjoined to end their service not later than 11am on Sunday to enable members “march round their immediate environment, praying for God’s intervention in the ongoing situation in Nigeria.”

The protests are at the instance of the RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Adejare Adeboye.

The Assistant General Overseer (Admin and Personnel) of the church,Pastor J.F Odesola said in a January 29, 2020 circular to all regions and provinces of the RCCG said: “The Christian Association of Nigeria, the umbrella body for all Christians and Christian organizations in Nigeria, has made a clarion call for prayers and advocacy to all Christians in Nigeria in response to the inhumane acts against Christians in the country.

“The General Overseer has therefore directed that all members of RCCG should participate in this prayer.

“Since RCCG is currently on a fasting and praying programme, the prayer focus within this period should be against the gruesome killings of innocent people in the country and prayer for the government to develop the capacity to overcome the criminals troubling the nation.”

This is hypocrisy.

By month end Osinbajo will waltz into the same church and sit with the VIPs, as a top member. Maybe he would even mount the altar to preach. Bunch of money- and power-hungry hypocrites

This is another prove that the dullard in Aso Rock is a disaster to humanity. Imagine what his incompetence, myopicness, wickedness and foolishness is causing all over the Nation.
Lives are wasted on per second bases in this country, and yet the useless dullard tells us he is surprised Boko Haram is still operating. What a useless comment from a demented old dullard.

Buhari is just an example of when God wants to punish a country, He allows a wicked ruler to rule them.

Too little too late!

If Baba Adeboye cannot point out Buhari's sin to him catogorically like John the Baptist did to Herod in the Bible, he should at least prove he is not a hypocrite by advising Osibanjo to resign. This would make a bold statement and the world will take him serious by then.

Your village people must have put new batteries inside your remote control. Adeboye is not the VP, and the VP is not Adeboye. Where did you draw your own inference from? VP of Nigeria is not VP of RCCG. Even the most brain dead can decipher that much.

As the commander in chief of the armed forces. don't be ridiculous. what is actually your bases for that. Adeboye not Adaboye need not prove anything to anybody he owns you nothing. he did not put him there.

osinbajo not osibanjo please give the man some credit in the history of Nigeria how many VP's has done anything note worthy or commendable .
yes everything is not going fine for Nigeria right now as expected but this problem did not start in a day or even a year it has been for decades from other administration. he is not a ghost

Having read through your message and I discovered that you may likely be suffering of dementia because you are posting to E.A Adeboye as if he the president or politician, you had better ask for mercy if you want to be enjoying your life

A call to prayer for God to help the government record greater success against the brigands get turned into a protest by unscrupulous and divisive elements and in your fledging mind, you think that your comments about VP Osinbajo hold any water. When he was talking about the pain of the Biafra war and how we should prevent it's occurrence again where were you? probably thinking of your next incitive comments. It is so easy to identify those who glorify these extreme incidents just to be seen to make a contribution.

stop threatening people with war, because you must justify oppression by hypocritical leaders who hide behind religious platitudes.

just stop. it's nobody's fault that you lot have been brainwashed by your churches and mosques which are mostly just business centres by the way

you can stay gullible and bequeath a hellish society on the future generations, or you can awaken to your conscience and call out so-called 'progressives' like your master osinbajo, who are actually thieves with religious habits and pronouncements, and are busy stealing nigeria's future today.

In as much as you are entitled to your own opinion just like I am. I am sure you are familiar with the assertion " look before you leap".. So I would recommend you put on your thinking hat, and drop sentiments.

If both men in questions are genuine Christians, then they should have the same mind frame as Christ that they profess. Meaning they should have the demeanor of Christ.

So questions are:

1. On what basis would a Christian agree to form a Govt with an Unbeliever...a special type of unbeliever for that matter. Show me the doctrinal backup.

2 Would Christ accept the role of a VP to a personality like Buhari whose track record is there for all to see.

3 Hypothetical question. Would Christ see evil manifestations in high level such as maiming, ethnic cleansing, pogrom, kidnapping, distruction of lives and properties, nepotism, corruption ( in some cases involving high level Redeemed Pastors) and still remain part of the Government or in the case of Baba Adeboye, keep mute?

4. Do you realise Baba Adaboye is a stakeholder in the Nigerian entity by his position as one of the highest profile religious leader. Same reason why high level politicians seek his blessings when seeking for votes. If he considers himself worthy to openly pray, support or endorse them in open as we've all seen he has done in the past, can you in all honesty tell me that by the same mandate he is not under any obligation to call them to order when things get out of hand in the open?

Zeesugar:

Many people will just comment without a deep thought over what to post. Can you tell me of what benefit will it be to you or Nigeria if Osinbajo should resign. Do you even realize that the activities of Osinbajo in this government is overwhelming.

Feels awkward to be caught out right? I and as usual the next step is to misconstrue the discussion. Truth is you actually can't run away from the seeds you plant. And while I do admire the person of Professor Osinbajo (I dare you to bring up your master with a better performance than his two stints as acting President), my true master is logical reasoning aka common sense. If you start a bush fire in the hamattan, chances are it would go outta hand.
