An Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure has remanded the General overseer of Sotitobire miracle center Akure, Prophet Alfa Babatunde at the Olokuta correctional centre for the next 39 days.

It will be recalled that Alfa Babatunde and six others were arraigned over counts of conspiracy to kidnap and aiding kidnapping of a missing one year old boy in his church last year.

At the hearing of the case on Thursday, the prophet and others pleaded not guilty to three counts charges against them.

Other defendants are Omodara Olayinka Margaret Oyebola ,Grace Ogunjobi, Egunjobi Motunrayo and Esther Kayode.

All efforts by the counsel for the defendants, Olusola Oke to ensure court granted them bail based on the applications earlier filed were unsuccessful as the The Director of Public Prosecutions, Grace Olowoporoku told Justice Ayedun Odusola that the defendants counsel filed multiple bail applications that were difficult to replied.

Justice Odusola however asked Mr Oke to fine tune his bail applications pending the next court date so as to commence hearing of the bail applications.

He adjourned the case till 16 ,17 and 19 March for next hearing.

A source said that the prophet had thought that he would be granted bail on Thursday, looked worried when he realized that he would have to be in Olokuta medium Corrections center for the next 39 days.

Meanwhile, the road linking the court as well as the court premises were filled up with residents who came to see the out come of today’s hearing while security operatives manned the court room where the case was being heard.
