4uller is making me laugh. grin

Anyone who takes PHW too seriously needs to go re-read his previous interviews. What else do you expect him to say? Were you there in the 80's when he was smuggled out of Highbury on the backseat of a car? His skin is too thick so you can keep ranting if you want. cheesy

I guess you want him to come out and say we've failed for not winning for 5 years? Keep dreaming. Targets/expectations were re-calibrated immediately after the move to the Emirates - anyone not factoring that into a bland and thoughtless '5 year' mantra should stop reading now.

The fact is, without Wenger, we wouldn't have the Emirates. If you can't accept that, there's nothing anyone can do to help you. He revolutionised things at the club and gave us a worldwide following that is bigger than what we've ever had. Not winning in 5 years doesn't change that and hasn't changed it.

If the only reason you support Arsenal (or will be happy) is when we're winning things, maybe you should reconsider being a supporter - we don't need glory hunters who only care about trophies.

Guess what? I do believe we are lucky to be Arsenal supporters - while things haven't been perfect, things aren't half as bad as some of you imagine.

Take a chill pill, sip some Iya Nasiru's brew and chill out. . . .see you hyperventilating over the past as if you can change it. Life's too short for such emotions dude.  cool

Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by duduspace(m): 9:19pm On Jan 28, 2011
Thumbs up for setting Ubuntu straight Debo, the conclusion I've come to is that a lot of fans will never be pleased until that first trophy finally lands with the avalanche of trophies following.

In more recent news:

Rumors Vela is off to West brom, seems the boy wanted to go to spain and they had to force/convince him to stay in the PL. Is this boy serious?  undecided

Liverpool finally agree fee for Suarez, is he Torres' backup or replacement?

Chelsea in for Torres, will this really improve Chelsea? Torres is world class but so are Anelka and Drogba, will one of them be leaving now or in the summer? and what will become of Project Sturridge and Kakuta? this is where Arsene trumps most other coaches in developing youth.

Most of these clubs in my opinion have midfield/defense problems and not striking problems but they are all buying strikers? are they thinking all of the strikers will step up like Berba has done this season? whichever way my gooner squad matches on and even our defense is now keeping clean sheets, I see roses in our future.

True. Instead of investin on nasris, fabs,VDvaarts and free scorin attackin midfielders that'll step up when d strikers start "rooneying".

Well glad he stays in the premiership.

One observation though, that's Jerome thomas' wing and he's arguably their best player. Would they move him for Vela or. . .not getting it at the moment.

4llerbuntu:

good for you that you find his statement and perhaps the article funny. cos i bloody well dont!!

this PHW dunce is perhaps the worst of the issues this club has,

sometime ago whilst we was still at highbury, on the day some launch thingy was going on at the emirates i saw an interview of this mumu on CNN where he practically worshipped Arsene. the mumu was actually foolish enough to say it publicly that the stadium was due to arsene's insistence and dedication, how he and the board had wanted to back out when they had funding issues but wenger and david dein sourced the funding.
how the stadium was wenger's idea and all that, the club was indebted to him bla bla bla.

i have never heard any club chairman worth his salt actually make a fool out of himself in such a silly manner, that practically amounted to an admission that wenger was in charge and was doing his own job to boot

just read the highlighted portions of the article ritchboy referred to

ok so first, i should be grateful for supporting arsenal in the period where the club cannot win anything?

and he is surprised that people are saying arsenal has not won anything in the last five years, since when did winning or not winning not a function of facts? of is there some trophy he won that we dont know about?

and the most galling one was the comparison with liverpool and manchester, isn't it rather a letdown that two clubs who have acually yo yo-ed between the lower reaches and the elite have won more and are more successful than the great arsenal who have not gone down?

and for bleeps sake, liverpool have won something in the last five years no? and for all the jibes about doing a liverpool with all the crisis, they are as bad as they will ever be and by next season will probably be back with a shout of winning a cup competition. Arrow.

whilst not begrudging the fool his view about the club's philosophy, it should not lie in his mouth to be the one publicly manufacturing excuses for the club's failures. that is similar to a parent who is the one who gives excuses for the child's inability to pass an exam in school!!

even though he may be well aware of various factors affecting that event, it does not lie in his mouth to be the one producing excuses. this dunce should be the one lighting a fire under everyone else to try succeed even with the limitations present.

see why blaming wenger at times sef is a bit unfair, the complacency and laissez faire attitude of the board towards success other than financial sef is unfortunate.

can you imagine franz beckenbauer or massimo morratti giving this kinda of statements?

and as for the russian jibe, i truly hope and pray david dein gets the chance to kick this opprtunist to the kerb soon.

this guy has not engineered a success for this club once ever, always relying on luck and fate, like the type that made him employ a nobody from japanese league to come manage a club. imagine the stroke of luck that the chap turned out to be successful and altruistic.

guess that was what fergie wanted to emulate with BEBE grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

All he is saying is the fact about Wenger's help and vision.

And he is telling the truth about Roman getting hit by a bus, they will be screwed.

He is running his club one way while others have adopted a different approach and I for one support the way he has done it.

Funnily enough now, when the new rules come in, ALL clubs will have to operate like Arsenal, we go see then.

“He has been injured for a long time and in a situation like that you feel jobless,” said the manager, who revealed that Almunia played through pain in his last appearance.

Of course I feel for him. In fairness it [his elbow injury] was against West Brom and that was a long, long time ago. He came out in the second half, but I left him the choice at half-time. I asked him how he felt and credit to him.

“After that when he was nearly ready he injured his ankle in training [on the day of Man U game].

“He said he wanted to stay on [against West Brom]. I do not reproach him for that at all and credit to him. But you never know, when you have a little injury you feel you can go on.

“I don’t know how many times the doctor said Nigel Winterburn was finished and could not go on and you have to take him off. And Nigel said ‘I play’ and he played.”

Some have doubted whether Almunia would ever pull on an Arsenal shirt again after Lukasz Fabianski and Wojciech Szczesny staked their first-team claims in his absence. But Wenger always felt that the Spaniard had something to offer.

You [reporters] thought that [he would not play again], but I never thought that.

“We have four keepers - Szczesny, Fabianski, Almunia and Mannone. All the four are good. You can always look and feel sorry for the three [who are not playing].”
