8 Ways We Can Reduce Poverty In Nigeria. Do You Agree? by DevelopNaija: 4:59pm On Feb 10, 2020 |
I sent the picture below to my friend and she responded 'AMEN'. I had to remind her that this is not a prophecy but a goal that needs actions to become a reality. #Poverty will drastically reduce if the following are done. 1. Change our mindset 2. Increase Minimum Wage. 3.Cut down public officers' salaries and allowances. 4. Gain 21st Century skills. 5. Provision of well paying jobs 6. Smart solutions for electricity and Water problem 7. Stop being greedy, selfish and self-centered. 8. Minding one's business What other ways can we reduce poverty for ourselves and others? Any suggestions? 64 Likes 5 Shares

DevelopNaija:I'd pretty much agree, though I do not agree with 2 since mid-level public officers' salaries and allowances is rather small. Still, if you do those others, their salaries might more likely increase and reduce poverty even further. Its that number 1 I agree with mostly, though I would add a 'y' so it reads "change your mindset", and therefore ensure each person is responsible for changing their own mindset. If we all change our mindsets to realising we are responsible for the state that we are in, instead of behaving like Unoka and blaming everything and everyone else but ourselves, then Nigeria just might better. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

![]() Make politics less attractive, because the only reason why poverty is this high is because of the huge spate of fantastically corrupt leaders we have. All the resources that should go round end up in the pockets of few fools... Did you see what that ex Abia state governor Theodore Orji and his son did to that state? You'll cry when you read that story. Until every one naira spent by govt can be accounted for, poverty will continue to rip Africa especially Nigeria off. 23 Likes 1 Share |

Number 1 should be "North centric". 4 children per man, polygamy should only be allowed when a man has attained a certain financial status. Na our number one problem be that. Them dey born like local fowl. 10 Likes |

Reducing poverty in the southern part of Nigeria can be a possibility going with the fact that average South Nigerians are allergic to poverty. But reducing poverty in the Northern part of the country can take more than a generational effort because people there believes poverty is a way of life that must be embraced with full joy. Therefore, the first step into reducing poverty in Nigeria is by first breaking up this shii entrapment, then then North will realize its in real real shii called POVERTY... 13 Likes |

Gaining 21st century skills in a village is useless. Provision of well paying jobs won't come from heaven. Minimum wage is 30k but till today people are being paid 10k as salaries. If Nigeria can fix it's infrastructures and security issues 80 percent of this problem is fixed. 2 Likes |
