Many esoteric sources interpret the completion of the twelfth B'ak'tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar (which occurs on December 21 by the most widely held correlation) to mean there will be a major change in world order. The word of God is more current than tommorows newspaper. 2012 prophecy is a lie. Based on guess work. They may sound logical but they are not word based. Every event in the last days are clearly predicted in the bible. And according to scriptures, the next major event in the world is going to be a sudden disappearance of millions of people from all over the world called "The rapture" of the church. Imediately Afer that is the 7year peace accord in the middle east. Isreal and Palestine will unite in peace under the Antichrist,But after 3 and half the peace accord will be broken and this will trigger the tribulation . After the seven years, the second coming if christ will take place and the battle of armagedon . Between the tribulation and armegedon , there will be climatic change , there will be changes in the solar system and the galaxy.After the battle comes the 1,000 millennia reign of christ kingdom on the earth. After this 1,000 years . The final judgement of the nations will take place. Sinners will be sent into lake of fire plus death and hell. Then finally a new heaven and a new earth . So all scientific predictions contrary to this will not stand. People have scientifically predicted end of the world for several years .but none came to pass because they are not consistent with the bible even though they sounded logical. |

@poster It seems you haven't heard or read, but I read on Yahoo! News sometime ago that some people found out that there was a huge error - of more than a couple of centuries - in the translation of the Mayan calendar to the modern calendar. So 2012 isn't due for another couple hundred years. Google it if you don't believe me. |

The Bible remains the very and only most reliable and authentic resolve in questioning the rightness, correctness, accuracy and possibility of a thing be it a prophecy or any of its kind in whatever format they may be presented. Even Paul the apostle admonished that even when prophecies are given, let the elders of the church stand aside and judge, judge what? judge for consistency with the truth of God's word So with all due respect to what many have postulated and affirmatively suggested if it fails the "consistency test" with the truth of the word of God forget it, its everything but correct, accurate and possible. Jesus Christ has already revealed to us what he called the "signs of the end time" and also what and what would aguably mark or signify the end of this passing and fading aspect of eternity. l would give deatails later. thank you |

If you go back and read Matthew 24, you will find that rapture is post-tribulation. The book of revelation lays things out in more detail. In Matthew 24, he was talking to those 'who believe', and he was saying the elect would be decived if it were possible. The rapture is in verse 31 after the tribulation in verse 21, which he says in verse 22 is only shortened for the 'elect's' sake. The unbelievers are NOT the elect. Believers ARE the elect. Verse 13 also says 'he that endures till the END shall be saved. The END IS NOT BEFORE THE TRIBULATION, THE END IS AFTER THE TRIBULATION, AT THE ARRIVAL OF CHRIST. Christians are gonna go through the tribulation. He addressed Matthew 24 to us so that we are warned and can prepare beforehand. @Seyibrown, Matt 24 was a Jewish prophecy. He wasn't making reference to the rapture but rather he was making reference to the second coming of christ which event will take place . 7 years after the rapture. When Jesus and us will come from heaven to fight for israel. |

Believers ARE the elect. This are Jews that will be left , they will escape the terror of the Antichrist because they have been sealed. The antichrist will not be made manifest until the church and the holy spirit leaves the earth by the rapture. You need to study Daniel 9. God has a calendar for the salvation of his people Israel . But the church age was not in the calendar, even though the world is involved too. @seyibrown, Daniel2 and 9 gave prophecy concerning Gods plan for the age. Chapter 9in particular gives a blueprint of the redemption plan for Israel . It gave the exact date Jesus was to be born, date of his death and the 7year tribulation. 70weeks here means 70x7 a week means 7years In Jewish calendar. Daniel 9:24-27 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people [/b]and upon thy [b]holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand,[ that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince[ shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26[b] And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off,[/b] but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof[ shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make[ it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Christ death came at the 69th week(7) 483 Summary, 70week = 70x7years = 490years. So the total number of years from the temple building to end of evil will be 490 years. Christ death came 483years remaining 7years if you subtract 483 from 490 you have only 7years which is also 1week. So out of the 70 week 69 week had been spent ,remaining one week (a week is 7years) that one week of the Jews was suspended at the rejection of christ. So their calendar has stopped counting. Until the time of the Gentiles is over. After our era , at the rapture, the calendar of the Jews will continue again. The remaining 7 years . To complete 490 years. So the prophecy of jesus was dealing with the salvation of the Jews and their tribulation. That's why he used some jewish terminology Matthew 24:20 20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: Because the Jews are not allowed to travel far on a sabbath day. So if the evil come upon them on a sabbath, they can't escape because they won't be able to travel and run far. |

The seven year tribulation This remaining 7years will kick off by the emergence of the Antichrist as a world ruler. He may most probably be of Jewish descent because the Jews will embrace him as "The Messiah". He will build a new temple for them and cause sacrifices to resume again according to Jewish law. (This cannot take place in this church age.) The seven years is divided into two. After the first three and half years , The Antichrist will enter into the holy of holies in the temple and declare that he is God. Daniel call this "abomination of Desolation" this will be the sign that will open the eyes of the Jews to realise that they've been deceived to embrace a false christ. And they will renounce him.This abomination of desolation will trigger their persecution by the Antichrist. It will run through the second part of the 7years till Jesus and us come to fight for Israel. At the Armageddon . You said the last kingdom would produce a power possessing dominion for 3 and half years. You link it to the end time.
