Domestic violence as suffered by men took another dimension on Tuesday in Owerri, the Imo State capital, as a wife {name withheld} cut off her husband’s nose, tip of the tongue and upper teeth after a quarrel. The victim is said to be a medical doctor with the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri. The wife, according to a Twitter user, who claims to be a friend to the victim with the Twitter handle @guchijones, called the mother of the victim to come and carry her son. According to the Twitter user, the doctor was rushed to the hospital and was stabilized. He however disclosed that though he is stable at the moment, he cannot yet talk because he is on tracheostomy. It is not clear what led to the quarrel between the couple and how the woman was able to overpower him to carry out the act. Domestic violence perpetrated by women against men has been on the increase in the country lately, leading to the death of some of the men. 1 Like
