I was opportuned to stay close to Hausa petty traders. While I was around them I observed a ridiculous habit that's laughable.

These group of Hausa petty traders sells at nite and they have some women who brings food for sale at night while they are doing their business.
The funny thing is this women are going to share whatsoever quantity of food left among the traders everyday before they go back home, no matter the quantity remaining it must be shared but not compulsory.

I observed that this can't happen else where because the traders would be waiting for these women's closing time to get free food instead of buying food, but the Hausa traders still buy food from them everyday despite the fact that free food awaits them at the end of the day.
To me this is strange and is still going on.

Then it's shame on them. They are the ones who are ridiculous and laughable. I like the culture. At least the poor who can't afford to buy still have hope of eating later in the day. Anyone who abuses it is the low one.

But as op said, the Hausa traders don't exploit it and "still buy food from them everyday despite the fact that free food awaits them at the end of the day", which is very commendable of them.
