It's not easy as you said it.
I engaged with Igbos a lot here in SW, I've asked them this question too b4.
There answer was, things are more cheaper here than SE, the cost of building malls, houses, land, factories etc, it's very cheap here in SW than SE..

I know most of my friends didn't travel to SE for Christmas, he said the cost of transportation is high...

I asked him what about biafra that if you later got it.
He said, he doesn't think biafra can come anytime soon.
He's not in support of it...

My own take is that.
It's not easy as you said it.
I know many Igbos that build their house, here, their children to go school here tho some were sent back to SE to further in the higher institution..

Yorubas and I hv Igbos friends, they told me this and they told me that..
una no dey tire for that phrase...

Person dey advice him people, same una that tells igbo to leave sw are same people countering him

I tire oo

I don't know who kalu is.
But then, we can't use Lagos land to judge.
MY friend and I with some other friends of ours went to buy a land around 2017/2018 sha..

A plot was 150k.
He just bought 2 plots only.

That's why I told you some prefer to build houses here than in the east.

Land 150k..

That place must be thick forest

How much have you sent home? Let's start with you

Are you this obsessed with Igbos?

His thread is centred on advise and you are here deviating it to personal issue.

You are getting wrong.

Most successful Igbos are usually business men living and working outside the Southeast.
Their houses, plazas, hotels are not just buildings but chains if business on their own, which like all other business may not yield optimal results if the owners of the business aren't close by especially during the gestational period.

Most Yorubas in Igboland are not business men but Federal Government workers and few artisans/petty traders. For certain historical and economic reasons, Yorubas are more in the North and Foreign countries than Igboland.

Even at that some who really enjoyed the place have settled down and build houses there.

mrvitalis:

Those ones would regret it when the time comes
Why don't Yoruba's invest outside south west
Makinde made his money in pH what's his investment their ?

How many plazas do Yoruba's own in the south south or north ....if some Igbo's want to keep being foolish that's them . me my own is to talk

My first land was in south south and that is the last outside south east unless its very very essential
