First Bank of Nigeria Limited was recently presented with the Oil and Gas Banker of Year 2019 award at the Patrons' Dinner and Industry Awards of the Nigeria International Petroleum Summit held recently at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

The four-day event, comprising conference and award dinner, is acclaimed to be Nigeria’s Government official platform for the petroleum industry gathering which has evolved to become Africa’s premier business and technology conference for not just oil and gas but for other industries in the economy, notably; maritime, automobile, banking and finance, power (electricity), pipelines, LNG, infrastructure, engineering and construction amongst others.

First bank isn't SMIEs friendly. They've eaten our millions without any symbiotic relationship. They're parasites. They can only loan to oil and gas and telecoms most of whom are their cronies, with almost zero collateral. Recently they had to write off some bad debts running into hundreds of billion most of which accrued from the loans granted their cronies.

Best bank ever. Not noisy, but steady and growing... congrats to them.

I can authoritatively tell you that they finance POs of jobs/contract from major IOCS. It's in their "Oil & gas finance scheme". You can read more about it on their website.

hmmm...It is the story of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer..what would happen to those guys in CR8 whose logo has been used by FBN without being paid. First bank staff are assured of bonuses and salary from this IOC deal but what about the staff in CR8 ..another small business is on the verge of collapse, someone needs to do something else the dream of another entrepreneur might fade away...
