There are four major belts for each weight division. They are the WBO, WBA, WBC and IBF title belts. Joshua, Fury and Wilder all compete in the heavyweight class. Now, if A.J and Fury were to fight, it wud termed a unification match to know the undisputed world heavyweight champion.
An Undisputed champion is a fighter who holds all the four major belts in a weight class simultaneously i.e when one fighter holds the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF titles at the same time, he is regarded as the undisputed world heavyweight champion. Currently, Joshua holds the WBA, WBO and IBF belts simultaneously (which makes him a unified champion i.e a fighter who holds two or more major belts from either of the four recognised majors belts which are the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF belts) while Fury holds only the WBC belt.

Listen, when the WBO mandated Joshua to fight Jarrell Miller, Miller failed a drug test, and Ruiz was called in.

When Ruiz beat Joshua on a WBO elimination bout, how come he took all of Joshua's belts and not just the WBO? How come he also took the IBO which was clearly not directly in contest?

Please, whenever Joshua fights, all his belts are always at stake, irrespective of whose mando he is fighting.

He goes to every fight with all his belts, even if it is against a mando contesting him for a single belt. And when he wins, all the belts get placed on him as a symbol that he has repossessed them.

Joshua will go with all his belts to fight Pulev. And if he loses that fight, he goes home empty-handed.

At that level it's not easy to fight too often. It will cheapen the fight value as you can't be selling PPV 10 times a year, also impact ticket sales. It's also a lot difficult to set up fights at that level with the way top fighters are aligned to different tv networks, different agencies, different boxing sanctioning bodies, politics etc.

Also if you are making upwards of GBP20m a fight, why would you fight more often and increase the risk of brain damage which means you end up not enjoying your money.

You can compare it to luxury cars v non luxury cars. Normal cars will be produced in larger numbers to increase sale while luxury cars will be controlled to increase demand and maintain the aura of luxury. If they produce too much it will cheapen the brand and make it hard to sell at higher prices.

That's why Fury is a much more recognised champion despite Joshua's four titles
