Portugal has on Monday March 3, 2020 confirmed its first case of coronavirus as a man aged 60 years test positive to the virus.

While the first case has been confirmed in the 60-year-old man who had travelled back from northern Italy, the second person aged 33 who tarvelled back from Spain, hospitalised in Portugal with coronavirus symptoms is awaiting final test results ad the first results indicates he might be ill with the virus.

According to AFP, more than 3,000 persons has been killed globally while over 89,000 cases has been reported across 68 countries.

The government of Portugal said it would be extending the screening measures to people arriving from Italy to further curtail the spread of the Virus.
