*Mr. Osita Reuben Agina (OYINATUMBA), A supernumerary superintendent of the Nigeria police and The Chairman/CEO of Oyitraco Global Concept Limited has built and donated Office building to the Nigeria police in Ukpo Dunukofia Local Government, Anambra State, Nigeria Police Training School Ikeja and currently building a chapel for the Nigeria Police, Anambra State Command Headquarters, Awka.*

The Anambra State Born Philanthropist and business mogul in response to the calls by several organisations across the nation for an improved funding of the Nigeria Police built and a donated an office building to the Commandant Special Protection Unit (S P U) Base 15 Ukpo Anambra state to the Nigeria Police, he equally built and donated an office building to the Nigeria police training school Ikeja, the building was commissioned by Acp Mu'azu Mohammed and not yet done with his support to the Nigeria police is currently building the Nigeria Police Chapel at the Anambra State Police Command, Awka to enable police officers have a befitting place for their worship services.

Recall, that several organisation including the Youth Advocates For Peace Justice and Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) had decried the Insufficient funding of the Nigeria police by the Government as it impeded the performance of the security Agency and called on spirited individuals and organization to support the police.

According to the Director of information of the group of YAPJEN, ''unknown to many Nigerians, most police officers buy the cloth materials for their uniforms and sew them with their personal money, buy their shoes, buy recharge cards to make calls on cases, the only thing the Nigeria Police officers don’t buy for themselves is perhaps their guns and bullets as most times even the guns are fastened around their shoulders with whatever ropes they can lay their hands upon'' The group
called on FG to implement the various police reform recommendations contained in the numerous reports conducted at various times in the country. “ The starting point for a better policing system is to ensure adequate funding, constant training, discipline of erring officers and good welfare packages''.

The group is optimistic that Police Trust Fund which has been signed into law by the president and which would be funded by a levy of 0.005 per cent of the net profit of companies operating in Nigeria, 0.5 per cent of the total revenue from the federation account, any take off grant and special intervention fund as may be provided by the federal, state and local government,aids, grants and assistance from international, bilateral and multilateral agencies, non-governmental organisations and the private sector in addition to grants, donations and investments made by the public and such money as may be appropriated to meet the objective of the Act by the National Assembly.

Ikeja, a silent and unannounced philanthropist who had earlier donated water borehole to his Oba community, stated that security is everyone's business and funding of the security agencies should not be left for therefore government alone.

Mr Osita Reuben Agina expressed hope that with the Police Trust Fund signed in June 2019, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) would get the appropriate funds needed to properly train its officers and equip its stations.
