Following Wednesday's ruling by an Abuja High Court which asked Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to stop parading himself as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) pending the determination of a substantive suit preferred again him by a chieftain of the party, the men of the Nigerian Police Force have taken over the APC National Secretariat located at Wuse II area of the Federal Capital territory.

The police, apparently acting to forestall any breakdown of law and order, locked out officials of the party including the embattled National Chairman.

Observers say the hierarchy of the APC are seriously working to nip any probable chaos that may arise from Oshiomhole's ouster in the bud.

A source privy to the scheming said the Governors of the party who are opposed to Mr. Oshiomhole's style are currently working to the the concurrence of the Presidency to name another Chairman in acting capacity.

Earlier, a media network known as Governors' Mandate Network had called on the governors of the APC to quickly nominate another Party Chair to avoid a leadership vacuum that could throw the APC into confusion especially with the looming gubernatorial elections in Ondo and Edo state later in the year.
