Heathrow owned by BAA Systems is in disarray as many flights have been cancelled due to their inability to deal with the snow. Gatwick Airport  conversely is well equipped in dealing with the icy conditions and operating almost normaly.

Welldone Bayo!!!

Welldone Bayo!!!

It is BAA Limited. BAA stands for British Airports Authority.

Gatwick is a mickey mouse airport compared to Heathrow. And you lie, Gatwick has had its problems as well and flights out of the airport are still being cancelled. When you have a plane landing every 45 seconds and you get 5 inches of snow in 30 minutes during one of the busiest periods of the day, there will be problems. Even if the airport was in Siberia it wouldnt be able to cope.

Hey Violent, If it was Gatwick having all the problem the headlines would have been like "Nigerian bought airport unable to cope with ,  you know the rest. Lets praise our own for once.

Heathrow has 70 snow clearing trucks while Gatwick has 90 despite being a smaller airport.

Lagos — A Nigerian, Adebayo Ogunlesi, has acquired the London Gatwick Airport as the new owner. The Gatwick deal is a £1.455 billion agreement with BAA Airports Limited.

Ogunlesi, 56, is the chairman and managing partner, Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), an independent investment fund based in New York City with worldwide stake in infrastructure assets. , http://allafrica.com/stories/201002170543.html

If it was the one airport with problems you'd probably make much of its Nigerian management.
