Mathematicians, physicists and philosophers in the house, I had a thought today. We learnt about atoms, the indivisible building blocks of nature. We were taught about dividing a block of gold, for example, till we got to those particles. It has been proven and all that. But if we apply the same logic to a simple math division, say 4/3 ,why do we get 1.3333333333etc, showing no clean end to the division. We keep getting infinite remainders. Please share your thoughts |
