The first case of coronavirus have being announced in Ethiopia on Friday, which is said to be the second hit in East Africa.

The health ministry said they confirmed a 48-year-old Japanese man who was said to have arrived the country on March 4 from Burkina Faso negative to the virus.

In a statement, the health ministry said, "The Japanese man is undergoing a medical follow-up and those who have been in contact with the man are being traced and quarantined"

Ethiopia is said to become the 15th country in Africa with a confirmed case of the virus that has swept the globe, infecting more than 130,000 people and killing about 5,000 since the outbreak in China December.
