You have a large farm and most of the plants in the farm are not producing good fruits or producing fruits atall, what do you do to the unfruitful or fruitless plant? Leave them to occupy space while consuming the valuable nutrients in the soil, or you uproot and destroy them? I bet most experienced farmers will uproot and destroy them.
We are the plants in GOD's field (the earth). We were/are fruitless or producing bad fruit but our Wonder CREATOR still let us occupy HIS field & nourishing us despite the fruitlessness or producing of bad fruits. HE is a merciful GOD.
Time to start producing good fruits of righteousness/holiness to escape the coming destruction of the bad plants.
