Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on Friday, barred social, political, religious and family gatherings of more than 20 persons as part of efforts to check the spread of coronavirus.

The governor, who announced that “all public and private schools and institutions in Ekiti State are to close down from Monday, March 23”, also directed that “all non-essential workers in private and public sectors are encouraged to work from home from Monday, March 23”.

Fayemi, in a statewide broadcast in Ado Ekiti, said, “Now that we are aware of its presence in our midst, we must leave no stone unturned to make Ekiti State coronavirus (COVID-19) free. We must combat and curtail its spread by ensuring our people are actively involved in government’s efforts to fight this global pandemic. While the world frantically searches for a cure, our best and only defense is prevention.”

Ekiti on March 18 recorded its first case of coronavirus, The PUNCH reports.

Fayemi added, “All public gatherings of more than 20 persons are prohibited from today, Friday, March 20. These include religious gatherings like worship and prayer services, night vigils, house fellowships, and Asalatu; social gatherings like burials, weddings, family meetings and parties of any kind; political gatherings, like rallies, congresses, ward meetings; night clubs, bars, beer joints, and NYSC CDS meetings among others.”
He listed the non-essential workers in private and public sectors who should work from home to include civil and public servants from level 12 and below; except essential services like health workers, caregivers, social welfare officers, fire service officers, emergency response officers, and security guards/watchmen in public institutions.

Is too late already. It would have been better when the first case was identified.

Lock ke, down ni. What was it that was happening in the country before? Countries where things are happening are locking down and you are bringing Nigeria into it. And maybe he doesn't remember again that civil servants in Nigeria have always worked from home ..Just as the governors govern from Abuja.

FG made a big mistake by not quarantined all passengers flown to Nigeria by air. Our international Airports have messed up big time

Honestly, we just need a few weeks to determine the extent to which this virus has already messed with us. We just need to be hopeful it’s not as bad as the situations currently going on suggests it is lipsrsealed

Why you're there scared and afraid of Corona virus, know you might get hit by a bus while going to work or market.

Don't be afraid to die if you're not afraid to live.
Tomorrow is never promised, those who lost their lives in Lagos blast never knew disaster would befell them that day.

Stop the panicking
Stop the Fear
Corona will kill who it'll Kill
The fear will not do you no good.

Be thankful for the moment you're living, be at peace with all men.

To those with underlining health problems, don't panic about what the media are spreading... You might even survive it than those without health problems.
If 2020 ain't your year to die, you ain't dying and if it is... no need to panic we will all die someday.
If the land of the dead was such a terrible and bad place, those went there would have returned back.

If you have only a second to live, live it to the fullest....

STOP THE PANICK
CORONA virus is not the only way you can die

This Coronavirus issue keeps getting real and serious all over the world.

A very Important Question about Coronavirus: Will Covid-19 be considered a pandemic in two years from now?

Answer : That depends on us.
Please, if you have a cough and/or a fever, stay at home and stay away from others.
You probably have a cold, but if you’re a minimally symptomatic carrier, you can do your part by making sure your particular Covid-19 ends at you and doesn’t get passed on to another person.
We pray that will never be anyone's portion.

Flier:
Dont let them deceive you, washing of hand can only save you against other infections not Coronavirus it’s highly contagious
You can’t escape if you ever come accross someone that has it.I am just happy the fatality rate is low
So you rather prefer not to wash your hands?!
Is that it?

This is the time for us all to come together as a nation.
We must unite as one to overcome this virus.
We can all start by CLEANLINESS,
Washing our hands, and keeping our immediate environment clean and safe.

Meanwhile...........

People that didn't work while in the office, will now work at home.

grin grin

Call it what it is. It's a partial lockdown, not a work from home order.
