Iyiataata92: Too bad. We lost the opportunity to block this thing until viable therapy is ready and a vaccine down the line. Now a total lockdiwn of the country is inevitable. Does the goverment have the money to feed most of Nigeria for a day thoughtless of weeks or months when they know the productive population is less than half and those in formal employment, those who can 'work from home' are miniscule. What about the army of self employed. Who will feed them if they are under a mandatory quarantine like in Wuhan, like in Northern Italy. Will the loss of income on a massive scale not lead to wanton crime. What is the goverments policy towards this. Just watching a documentary on the BBC World Service and what is clear is this: To defeat the virus like China did you have to act like China did. TOTAL LOCKDOWN. Is Nigeria ready for a total lockdown. Do we have the resources as a nation and the capacity as a people to keep society functional, crime free... Goverment that knows the answer has tested fate by not acting on time. Results worldwide has shown you cannot defeat this pandemic, you cannot perform socio-medical surgery without stopping the heartbeat of the nation. Whether we will awake from the self induced coma is left to contemplate. 2 Likes |

blowjohn: Those in retail, market men and women, on the streets, in construction and engineering, offering location based services, transporters, restauranteers, etc, the bulk of Nigerians... how do they work from home... Hope they have enough policemen to handle crime and enough prisons to warehouse criminals. Lockdown maybe the only way to kill the pandemic but it may kill the country with it. Is Nigeria as a country resilient? 2 Likes |

So you rather prefer not to wash your hands?! Is that it? This is the time for us all to come together as a nation. We must unite as one to overcome this virus. We can all start by CLEANLINESS, Washing our hands, and keeping our immediate environment clean and safe. Meanwhile...........[/quote] damn Wash your hands as much as you like in fact use the most our of hand sanitizer, if someone has this virus beside you, it will transmit you immediately just by one cough I urge everyone to stay a bit far from any one that has cough, not making us believe that washing of hands or using sanitizer will make Coronavirus stay away |
