But Davido successfully took 32 asymptomatic people along for testing? There was a country![quwote author=JamParkMe post=87904332]That person seeking a test right now is an unserious fellow. They are only testing those with symptoms such as fever, cough and body aches who may have been exposed to an infected person. There are very limited number of testing kits to go around, so yes of course screening is selective. Even in America and Europe, they are only testing people with symptoms, so why did your friend think he can just get tested like that?

The rich and famous all over the world are getting tested without symptoms. News flash! Life is unfair.

Shut up and stop saying what you don't know. In those countries you mentioned, they're testing anyone who comes forward.

You are another misinformed idiot. No symptoms, no tests.

Do they know if the person has come in contact with an infected person? They should first interview the person and ask some relevant questions before deciding whether he should be tested or not rather than avoiding the person.

Maybe they should've handled it better. But just coming in contact with someone who's infected isn't enough reasons to get tested. No symptoms, no test.

is oit because he did not mention or say anything about symptoms? who knows if he is having symptoms. this will still happen to people showing symptoms

Maybe if he had symptoms they will listen to him. We can't speculate what will happen then. But this individual had no symptoms and wanted to get tested. Ain't gonna happen.

But our useless politicians can test as many times as they wish even their family members

And why didn't they (NCDC) make it clear to them, why directing them from here to there each office absolving themselves of their duties without no concrete info or explanation

Anyone defending this should have his head seriously investigated.

Yes politicians and head of states must get tested. The last thing you want is mass infection of the executive branch. A nation without a leader or rule of law is an anarchy, you don't want that.

In America testing is not 5 minutes. Over the weekend they announced the introduction of a testing kit that can produce results in 5 minutes. That doesnt mean they have manufactured enough kits to test everyone including those without symptoms. As it stands, if you have no symptoms, they won't test you. Maybe you should stop wasting data on pornhub and instead read world news, maybe you will be more informed. Also it's very rude typing in all caps, learn some internet etiquette.

Davido and his entire crew were tested. Were they all showing serious symptoms?

I see a lot of people jubilating because majority of those confirmed are well known individuals / politicians and those close to them. What we don’t know is the several others infected who are lesser known and prolly spreading it already.

Money talks all over the world. There's a prediction that 80% of Americans will end up contracting this virus and only 0.2% will die from it. This is good news, they will develop antibodies to fight it off it it rears its ugly head again in the future.

I can see plenty members are quoting JamParkMe, throwing words and adding false facts here and there...

To start with, what the poster did is careless and a waste of human resources and time. You had no history of travel and no history of exposure with a positive case but yet decided to get tested rather than practicing social distancing.

NCDC criteria for getting tested are as follows:

1) Anyone with a recent travel history who present with fever, cough or breathing within 14 days of arrival

2) Anyone exposed to a confirmed case with the above symptoms within 14 days from point of contact

3) Any of the above 2 with no symptoms. This is a plus/minus cos most people under this careful should self isolate...

The poster doesn't fit into any of these 3. So why does he want to get tested?

There aren't enough testing kits in this country or anywhere in the world for the people showing symptoms let alone the asymptomatic ones with no travel or contact with a confirmed case.

No. Ghana doesn't provide door to door testing
No. Germany doesn't do half a million tests weekly
No. USA doesn't do tests for everyone that requests for it
Yes. Nigeria tests close contacts with a confirmed case by doing what we call contact tracing.

USA health workers have erred their complaints even just yesterday on the limited equipments and their doctors/nurses treating the cases not being tested.

Any news you read is about private organizations ordering test kits for their employees.

Davido and his family should've gone into quarantine the first minute they dropped from the plane but decided to throw a party and exposed others. Their testing is most likely private...

Besides, every nation has a problem with selectivity for high profile citizens. The U.S and other European countries have news all over about celebs and politicians with no symptoms getting tested.

So how do we tackle this? STAY AT HOME.
If you come in contact with a positive case and show no symptoms, QUARANTINE
If you had a recent travel history to high index countries, QUARANTINE
If you don't have any of this, observe strict SOCIAL DISTANCING.
Now isn't a time to run to NCDC "just to get tested". They have positive cases that need containing and attention

The whole world doesn't have enough resources to deal with positive cases and worse random testers. PLEASE STAY AT HOME and get enlightened

Thank you

Thank you for the PSA, these people really needed it.

Sure I believe the rich & powerful will somehow get their hands on the test. Unfair as it may seem, that's how the cookie crumbles. One of my favourite basketball players in the U.S Kevin Durant got tested without symptoms in the early phase of the spread. But let me ask you, how do you know Chioma had no symptoms? Remember now she and her infant just returned home from the U.S, it's likely she may have been displaying symptoms to demand a test. Never speculate.
Two things to note, I had said she showed no symptoms and you had said it's LIKELY she MAY have been displaying symptoms... Never Speculate! I read the broadcast directly from source and I simply cited as expressed. She showed no symptoms.

Ok fine lets assume she showed no symptoms. Are you really shocked that the rich and famous have access to things the average person doesn't? Or you think it only happens in Nigeria?

Gov. El-rufia, Chioma(Davido's wife) both tested positive without symptoms.

Right. Celebrities all over the world will gain access to the testing kits before you and me. That's life for you, it's not just a Nigerian problem. El Rufai and members of the executive branch absolutely should get tested without symptoms of they feel the need for it. A country without its leaders is an anarchy. We don't want that.

The way some people sound on this forum baffles me. Unfortunately, over 100 people liked this.

So simple explanation of the protocol wouldn't suffice? B4 someone who is schooled and resides in planet Earth decided to go for test, do you think he does not have cause? Who told you people are doing selective testing in UK and US? If you have reasons to be tested (which will be confirmed by a doctor who would professionally discuss with you), you will be tested.

B4 someone will go through all these rigors just to get tested, do you think he is so jobless? Why is NCDC accusing Nigerians of not coming forth? Is there a higher level of unprofessionalism than the one displayed by these health officials?

If you don't know, ask nicely and I will tell you. I have family members who are doctors and nurses in the U.S. they are at the frontlines taking care of COVID-19 positive patients. If you have no symptoms, you will not get tested. It's as simple as that. Whatever else you think is just you deceiving yourself. Also be careful about what you read online, OP might be overexagerating.

Lol, I might even be a carrier and not have any symptoms. But that doesn't make me eligible to get tested. No symptoms, no test.

Are you sure you read that post before commenting? If you don't know were you can be tested now you don't have symptoms, is it when you're as good as dead that you will be attended to? He ask the man in question what the procedure was but he referred him to non existing facility. Was Choima, Davido and son having the symptoms before they where tested? If you like don't stay at home you hear.

Maybe they should've guided him to the right location for the test. Maybe OP is even adding or omitting some details to make his story juicy. But the fact still remains, no symptoms, no test. In regards to Chioma and Davido getting tested without symptoms, it happens all over the world, nothing new here.

El rufai, Obaseki and a host of others were asymptomatic when they were tested. Some of these people who are looking for test are doing so because they have had contact with infected people

Yes absolutely. In fact you should be worried if members of the executive branch aren't getting tested. If you think the country is bad now, you don't want to be around when your leaders are wiped out by the virus. So yes they should all get tested.
