I can see plenty members are quoting JamParkMe, throwing words and adding false facts here and there... To start with, what the poster did is careless and a waste of human resources and time. You had no history of travel and no history of exposure with a positive case but yet decided to get tested rather than practicing social distancing. NCDC criteria for getting tested are as follows: 1) Anyone with a recent travel history who present with fever, cough or breathing within 14 days of arrival 2) Anyone exposed to a confirmed case with the above symptoms within 14 days from point of contact 3) Any of the above 2 with no symptoms. This is a plus/minus cos most people under this careful should self isolate... The poster doesn't fit into any of these 3. So why does he want to get tested? There aren't enough testing kits in this country or anywhere in the world for the people showing symptoms let alone the asymptomatic ones with no travel or contact with a confirmed case. No. Ghana doesn't provide door to door testing No. Germany doesn't do half a million tests weekly No. USA doesn't do tests for everyone that requests for it Yes. Nigeria tests close contacts with a confirmed case by doing what we call contact tracing. USA health workers have erred their complaints even just yesterday on the limited equipments and their doctors/nurses treating the cases not being tested. Any news you read is about private organizations ordering test kits for their employees. Davido and his family should've gone into quarantine the first minute they dropped from the plane but decided to throw a party and exposed others. Their testing is most likely private... Besides, every nation has a problem with selectivity for high profile citizens. The U.S and other European countries have news all over about celebs and politicians with no symptoms getting tested. So how do we tackle this? STAY AT HOME. If you come in contact with a positive case and show no symptoms, QUARANTINE If you had a recent travel history to high index countries, QUARANTINE If you don't have any of this, observe strict SOCIAL DISTANCING. Now isn't a time to run to NCDC "just to get tested". They have positive cases that need containing and attention The whole world doesn't have enough resources to deal with positive cases and worse random testers. PLEASE STAY AT HOME and get enlightened Thank you 2 Likes |

JamParkMe: If this were something less serious, then yes your analogy would have made good sense. But when it comes to disease no one fully understands and where people we should trust are economical with the truth then no, I disagree but then that's my opinion. Can't force anyone to agree with me and you shouldn't force your opinion no matter how much you think it's worth on someone else. Peace out. |

vineyardfarms: In America testing is not 5 minutes. Over the weekend they announced the introduction of a testing kit that can produce results in 5 minutes. That doesnt mean they have manufactured enough kits to test everyone including those without symptoms. As it stands, if you have no symptoms, they won't test you. Maybe you should stop wasting data on pornhub and instead read world news, maybe you will be more informed. Also it's very rude typing in all caps, learn some internet etiquette. |

Mayoofficial95: I might be a carrier and have no symptoms. But you know what I wouldnt do? I won't leave my 1 bed room apartment in Bariga, hop on a bus traveling the entire span of Nigeria looking for a testing kit. That's the height of stupidity. 1 Like |

ademi87: He is the Chief of Staff to the president, of course politicians must be tested if they deem it necessary, otherwise there will be chaos, instability and panic. Moreover, who told you he had no symptoms? Are you his doctor? And if you were, you will be violating his privacy and confidentiality rights. |

vivvyo: He didn't mention anything about symptoms. Trust me atrention-seekers like OP will even exaggerate their symptoms just to garner pity online. It's not the responsibility of the NCDC to determine if you have symptoms. If you have a fever, cough or body aches, you will know. |

Damntruth: Dummy. Let's assume you are right that they now carry out tests on everyone. You are inadvertently admitting that America was only testing those with symptoms due to the limited supplies they had initially. We are talking about the world's richest nation whose companies own and manufacture these testing kits. Now why do you think Nigeria should have 200 million testing kits right now to test everyone even those without symptoms? You are much dumber than I thought. |

deavicky: I've said it many times and I will say it again. Politicians must be tested if there's any suspicions that they might have come in contact with someone who tested positive. They are the leaders for Christ sakes. Trump got tested without symptoms. But seriously how do you know Kaduna state governor had no symptoms whatsoever? |

eephydanielah: Perhaps the rich and famous will get tested before the average person. Same thing has happened in Europe and America. But don't completely believe every story you read online, some people are out to stoke fear and cause panic while also garnering pity points online. |

JamParkMe: Davido and his entire crew were tested. Were they all showing serious symptoms? I see a lot of people jubilating because majority of those confirmed are well known individuals / politicians and those close to them. What we don’t know is the several others infected who are lesser known and prolly spreading it already. 1 Like |

tumababa: Celebrities and athletes in Europe and America also got tested while asymptipmac meanwhile their doctors and nurses taking care of COVID-19 positive patients were denied tests. Is this the first time you reading about the rich and privileged gaining access to things the average person cannot even dream of? Oh the shocker!! |

MrCEO69: Money talks everywhere in the world. American basketball player Rudy Golbert was the first athlete to test positive even though he was asymptomatic. There was an outcry on social media because many people couldn't get tested but he did. Money talks all over the world but you and many other people on nairaland are hell bent in believing inequal access to healthcare only exists in Nigeria. |

We citizens are on our own very wicked , just imagine how the prices of everything has skyrocted but God will save us all . 1 Like |

nams77: When you and your friends have produced 7 billion testing kits to use and test the whole world, please let us know so every foreign government can buy it from you to test their citizens. Until then, use your thinking faculty and realize that there are limited number of testing kits so therefore only those with symptoms will be tested. |
