Although, when I was a little girl, I wanted a name that started with Chi so I could be called Chichi grin
I wanted it so bad, I had my mother name my sister with a name that started with Chi , and so I called her just Chi to my fill, now I'm over it. grin

Funny! Why that name? grin

Awwww...Urhobo people have tons of lovely names, infact, all the Oghene versions are cool....Ogheneejiro nko?
Lol. I must love the name. I have several family members with the name grin

The names are indeed beautiful. Urhobo names are highly circumstantial. Beyond the way they sound, you'd fall in love with some names if you hear the story behind them or what a particular family went through and why they gave a child such name at the time.

Oghenetega - Oluwatosin
Ejirooghene or Ejiro - Oluwatoyin

It's funny but definitely not strange. grin

Most people choose certain names just because of the way they sound.

Would have loved hannifah or khadijah instead of mutiah... Mutiah's still cool though it's better than "shukurah" or "kaosarat"... If they had named me shukurah eehn I'd have done change of name tikpe.... But my other name is cool "olamide" AKA "ola money" or "lamani"

as things stand now, may be you have to relocate to Spain

No, to Italy rather.

I love my name. The name opens doors for me, not that it rings any bell. People just think of the meaning and act by it. Yoruba names are loaded.

Back in campus, my friend and I wanted to submit our assignments at the lecturer's office. It was a late submission. I think the Prof. was in a playful mood. He initially sent us back but on second thoughts, he said we should wait. He asked for our names. We told him, he said I should drop mine cos of my name, he said he's role playing my name. That was how he sent my friend away with her assignment.

If you're still wondering what's in a name, I'd say a lot.
