That's what every saying. is painful. Giving out the money in cash may cause inflation inside buy food items, nose mask and gloves for those around you.

It now looks like a competition among the elites.
Very sad. Is like making donations to Mr. President and his team. Why the masses are struggling to survive.

Yes they are. The Ibos don't donate. They have thick skins to pecuniae and so they are Hippopotamuses.

They are only seeking for contracts from FG.

Eye service donations..
Is a shame. That at this critical period in Nigeria, some rich Nigerians are seeking for contracts, name, Fame, social media publicity.
Hypocrite

Maybe we should ask these people this question.
Pastor Paul Eneche Sir, you gave the government items worth 2 billion.
Hope you were able to share hand sanitizers to members even if it's in the headquarter church?

Sir, Dangote, you gave the government 200 milloon, hope you were able to distribute food items to your home town people. Especially the helpless women and orphans including those children almajiri, who have no means of survival now?

Sir, Mr femi otedola, you gave 1billion, wao! Don't you think it would have been better you shared it to Nigerians?

NNPC, you gave 11billion. that huge donation is for what? So they's so much money like that to freely give, yet we applied for jobs in your organization, you gave it to people with connections and did not invest in programs, industries that could help an average Nigerian unemployed graduate.

Tuface, you gave 100 million, hope you have been able to distribute food items, hand sanitizers, nose mask and hand gloves in your village and neighborhood?
Otherwise, you all are hypocrites!

Pastor Paul Enenche said he didn't give any 2 billion naira..it was fake news

The fact that he gave to the government at this period and not his members shows he didn't care about his followers.

If we all can reason the way it is on this tread Nigeria will be OK .the day we stop looking for miracles, free money ,eye service ,Religions sentiments and the day we know Riches are not ready to associate with poor's in any way than to enslave them to remain who they are but unfortunately the poor or followers don't know what they want or need at a particular time. that is why they continuing worshiping leaders and riches to solicits for imaginary and conditional help which can not be giving to them bcs Riches only give better things to Riches , Riches /Leaders like to associate with Riches/leaders but poor or followers only forcing the Riches or leader to be their friends by being slaving and eyes service .

Tonto dikeh tried on this

It's unfortunate that even at this difficult situation, they still preach on the television and give out their account details for members to send in their offerings and tithes.
Shame

I was thinking out loud and getting angry. What exactly are they looking for? Maybe government project, recognition or social media publicity? Hypocrite

Public donations are long time gimmicks of corporate bodies. In that while the public may consider such moves laudable...the donations are actually tax deductible.
That is, the said company will always deduct the same/higher amount from the tax they would have had to pay the government.

In the end, the whole thing may be audio. When GTB for instance built an isolation centre for Lagos State, GTB will get the necessary receipts.... (maybe even inflate the actual costs if they decide to go rouge... I'm sure they won't do this cos it's illegal) and deduct same (or some high percent of the) amount from their taxes for the year.... It becomes part of their corporate social responsibility.

That's not to downplay the empathy they have shown in this manner o! Afterall we've churches who have decided to tax their worshippers online rather than finding ways to ameliorate their parishioner's suffering in this period.

My point is, anybody that has anything to lease the hardship we're in now, should channel it to the masses not the government.
