nonhuman: Good day boss, I have a similar experience but dodge product. I will advise you to check the tail pipe if there is any sign of fuel? Your fuel injector and nozzle can be the culprit here, and from experience do you experience misfire at all..... Then I will need to run diagnosis then I can tell you the certain parts to work on. |

Fuel Pressure Regulator All fuel-injected engines have fuel pressure regulators to maintain a regulated high-pressure level. So, Fuel pressure regulators must keep the pressure constant; in order for all of the components of the fuel injection system to work properly. And, If the pressure is out of this range then the vehicle will not run or will run inefficiently. Symptoms of a Failed or Failing Fuel Pressure Regulator Spark plugs blackened The dipstick smells of gasoline Gasoline drips out of the tailpipe Engine stalls Gasoline in the vacuum hose Deceleration problems Bad fuel mileage Causes So, Always replace your fuel filter at the recommended car manufacturer intervals. Also a clogged filter will cause fuel pressure to drop and damage the fuel pump as well. So it’s more cost effective to service the fuel filter at regular intervals.

Blackbishop: Thanks OP for this very lovely thread. Please I drive a 2006 Toyota Corolla and I’ve come to notice of recent that my car accelerates by itself when not on motion. The acceleration atimes goes so high that I will have to quickly turn off the ignition. Please what could be the cause of this? Thanks in anticipation |

Good morning famz, I will like to discuss issues I have regularly in my workshop of recent. The main issue most people deal with now is transmission issues which cut across most brands; Toyota, Honda, Hyundai just those for now... When you start having issues the first step you take is check yourself? When was the last time as a car owner have you done Servicing to the tranny system? Then you check the the oil to see the color, if it is anything apart from pink like, then just know you are going for a tranny Servicing. Next are the valve and solenoid; the harness or open circuit and complete change of the solenoid. If you are doing a complete Servicing then you change the filter in most of these vehicles. But in a case the Torque Converter is affected you are Changing the transmission system completely. Don't continue to service what is not going to last long. Spend money on geniue parts and not managing the issues. Thanks

P0170 Mercedes Benz C230 The P0170 this code mean that the fuel mixture is too rich or too lean. Most of the time these Mercedes-Benz fault code is caused by a defective Mercedes Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) sensor. Symptoms Check Engine Light On Car stuttering CEL may come on for a few day, then turns off Rough idle Car shakes, running rough Hesitation during acceleration Causes The most common cause of P0170 a Mercedes-Benz is a defective mass-airflow sensor. The MAF sensor gets dirty over time triggering the CEL. Vacum leaks near the o-ring of the fuel injectors. Vacuum leak at the brake booster line. Cracked PCV hose or loose PCV valve. Fuel Supply Issue. If you have issues during a cold start, it is more likely a fuel related issue Solution First, clean the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. You will need MAF Sensor Cleaner to spray on the sensor. Cleaning may not always work. Remove the mass air flow sensor. Spray MAF sensor cleaner on the plate inside. Avoid touching the sensor with an object. Only spray sensor cleaner. If cleaning does not fix the problem, replace the MAF sensor. If P0170 was caused by a bad MAF sensor and you replaced the sensor, the CEL should turn off in a couple of days. Even if you don’t clear the codes. If the fault codes are caused by a vacuum leak, the CEL will stay on or return. Check Fuel Filter Check Ful Pump, Fuel Pressure, Fuel Pump Relay

I got a call from a customer who wants to know if using Mobile1 is injurious to his Engine. The question was if using 5W-30 was the reason the Engine oil of his Camry was always at the lowest after about 7000 Miles? Mobile1 is an advanced full Synthetic oil, with addictive to prolong the Engine life and a better performance. Some reports did indicated the specificity of lighter Engine oil with damaged engine drying up after some miles. But there are some possible cause of engine oil going down without any possible physical signs The possible cause can be bad piston rings, bad PCV Valves and so many more. But the essential steps to take is to allow a certified Technician check to give you a probable cause. |

Honda Accord 2008 - P2227 There was a case have been working for a week now, A customer from outside lagos called to know what code P2227 means for his Honda Accord 2008? Fault Code P2227 mean the Barometric pressure Sensor (BARO) which is built in the Power Train Module in other word Brainbox and it monitors the atmospheric pressure. The BARO is almost similar to the MAP Sensor - Manifold Absolute Pressure in term of output, the output of the MAP Sensor is similar to that of the BARO sensor. Back to the main issue the owner was having this code and MAP Sensor related codes and he was changing the MAP Sensor, the car will work for a day and goes back to the the same issue, after making attempt thrice he called me to know any other solution. The Possible Symptoms Engine rough idles You smell fuel alot Engine hesitation After studying the situation and consulting I told him to change the PCM or ECM to get rid of the problem. So in this situation changing the ECM is not enough, you have to reprogram the ECM to fit in with the car system... |

Good day famz, Due to constant questions about your car temperature and the connection of factory tan directly, I will enlighten us one more time Reasons the Temperature Gauge Reads High If the temperature gauge reads high, it could mean your engine is overheating, and some components maybe faulty her like a leaking radiator or radiator cap, dirty or clogged radiator. Another reason your reading might be high is you could be losing coolant. A small leak or evaporation may cause your radiator to slowly lose coolant. A third reason your temperature gauge reads high could be because the thermostat is broken. If this is the case, you may need a coolant temperature switch replacement. The last reason the temperature gauge could read high is because of a water pump, or water pump gasket failure. If the water pump is malfunctioning, it may need to be replaced by a professional. But the best solution is to give the car to a qualified Auto Technician to run full diagnosis on the cooling system before a road side Mechanic asked you to remove the thermostat or connect the fan directly. 1 Like |

Re: Mechanic Roundtable by Blackbishop(m): 8:50pm On Jun 19, 2020 |
