bro u no d ana already.coro is spreading like wild fire n u go see people full inside bus for here ppl dy shake hands anyhow

If the point of lock down is to reduce the virus to zero infected then I’ll tell you that is IMPOSSIBLe. Lassa fever is not airborne and can only be spread by rats that we don’t even shake hands with yet people are still dying from it. A doctor died 2days ago from Lassa.

You now think you can contain corona that is airborne? Lol I laugh.

The best thing to do is enforce face mask for anyone who leaves their house (mandatory) and social distance when outsidE.

If you’re waiting for a vaccine, then let me tell you that the quickest vaccine ever made took 5 years - the quickest.

I really think they need to minus the discharged cases from the total confirmed cases... That figure scares the hell out of me... Enugu and river states have been just 2 for almost 2 weeks now.. And last time i checked, the incubation period of the virus is 14 days. Abi there own patients never recover finish.?

No, Incubation period is the time in which the virus establish itself into the host system.
It doesn't mean the host will recover rather it will begin to show symptoms.

Don't think thats totally correct... From what i have read so far online about the virus, once u make it past 14days, you are safe... Hence the reason u see them discharging folks after the 14days (thats off course after constant treatment)

I'm interested in the testing capacity of states like Ogun where the virus spread has seemingly stalled, because I dont trust the effectiveness of this lockdown in a landlocked state, with Lagos so close...

The approach recommended is Test, Test, Test

Here are the test performances of a few countries as at 8th April:

US - 2,100,000
Russia - 910,000
Germany - 1,310,000
France - 220,000
Spain - 355,000
Nigeria - 5,000
Italy - 807,000
Brazil - 54,000
Vietnam - 110,000
UK - 282,000
S.Korea - 477,000
Australia - 310,000
UAE - 590,000
Canada - 348,000
Israel - 117,000
Turkey - 247,000
Belgium - 84,000
Switzerland - 171,000

Now compare Nigeria 5,000 tests against a population of 200m and see the percentage in relation to other countries above.

Are we doing enough tests? Even Niger Republic has done close to 5,000 tests! You can see them up above Nigeria in the table.

makes no sense at all, they keep doing it the figures are giving me the some kind of thought that, months would pass and things won't be back to normal, compulsory general lockbdown and house to house test is the way, since people are still coming in to the country put them in compulsory quarantine before they are released to their families or discharge any duty, I am sure those chinese were not even tested, it's all an assumption that they are healthy.

I tell you, most parts of Ogun now do vigils, no sleep since robbers operate as they like now.

I don't know why they won't visit politicians who stole our common wealth, instead they will be oppressing ordinary Nigerians like them. It's sad.

In 2018 there were 228 million cases of malaria, and 405 thousand deaths worldwide. This translates into more than 33 thousand deaths monthly. Still nations' economies were not shut down.

But malaria is not contagious you may argue, oh yes, but there have been the flu, SARS etc that were caused by virus in the past that are equally as deadly, which killed thousands of people in their initial phases and were contained subsequently without causing a pandemic and shutting down economies.

Corona virus has been around for decades and most of the strains are harmless. There's no proof that people that test positive for corona virus actually test positive for covid 19. There are not one and the same.

The hardship that will follow as the aftermath of this global lockdown will be catastrophic.

Wake up people and see that what is happening now was carefully contrived.

As the saying goes, it is easier to dupe people than to convince them that they have been duped.
Dismiss it as conspiracy theory if you like. Just remember you came across this line of reasoning when the dust settles.

heard the Chinese would be on compulsory quarantine for 14 days... But that still doesn't mean the end is near. Best way or should i say only way to get over this stuff is if a vaccine i found... Trust me bro we already have thousands of people with the virus roaming the country, my guess is Nigerians tend to be asymptomatic to this virus (except those with underlying health issues)... Millions gonna catch this virus in Nigeria, treat it like the regular malaria and still recover with out even know they had it

if gvt could conduct immunization and census from one household to another locking us down for 14 days and having us tested and sorted should not be an issue then we can all go back to our livelihood, this lockdown without proper planning and a well structured support from the gvt is a ticking time bomb...

If handled like malaria without being aware we are doomed, it would sky rocket

Let's hope the government would be more sensitive, put their interest aside and put a end to dis, boredom wan kill me.

There is an agenda afoot to ingrain socialist practices into our society by using this virus to their advantage. I believe that smart people will sort this out and we will return to work, and the economy will recover. Just stop listening to the fear mongers. I am not sure yet which side NCDC is on... Ugh. “We should continue to panic and live in fear until no one is employed and every business is shut down. That way people will be forced into socialism and we can finally kiss Capitalism goodbye.” That’s what they want. I’m not going to live in a apocalypse for 18 weeks!!! There won’t be a civil Nigeria as we know it by then. It would be a lawless nightmare!!! I’ll take my chances with coronavirus! There is no cure for a virus. Stop running from big foot and unicorns.
Get everything back together in one week.
This " flu" incubation period is almost a month. Then it starts over when a new infection occurs.
We are running from germs. I say we stop running and find the people responsible for opening Pandora's box. Wait till you see the uprising against the vaccine it will be millions. I guess the world wide vaccine will be the forerunner for getting everyone ready for the chip and the mark of the beast to come down the road.... you know conditioning the masses!!

This is what the satanic party APC had plunged nigeria into

I remember the swifness and alacrity with which GEJ and Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu, the then minister of health dealt decisively with ebola outbreak back in 2013.

APC with their clueLesness, foolishness, dumbness and idiocy has politicized everything and taken nigeria to new heights of mockery and caricature.

Thanks to the stupidity of yorubas (that never see beyond their unquencheable thirst for presidency just to brag) whoaid and abate every impunity and incompetency exhibited by this demonic government

Bro that's irrelevant...
Covid-19 does not check account balances.

But I can tell you who is getting tested...
People showing Covid symptoms, especially contacts of positive cases and/or returnees (by land these days).
