The Dogras are the people who live in Jammu Province of Jammu and Kashmir Union territory of India. They have a very rich history. Many of you are reading this name the first time. So, I will tell you that who are Dogras and their Culture.

People who speak Dogri are called Dogra's. Yes, the language Dogri which is spoken in India and submitted in the 7th schedule of Indian Consitution.

The king of Jammu and Kashmir buys the whole country, that time Jammu and Kashmir is not a part of Indian territory. The King Gulab Sing buys their whole country from Britishers and this treaty of Amritsar (1846) formalized the sale by the British to Gulab Singh for 7,500,000 Nanakshahee Rupees.

So, now you got and the idea of how rich is the country who buys its whole land. No other country in the whole world can do this. The website Being Dogra https://www.beingdogra.com/ is totally dedicated to the culture of Dogras and Dogri Language. They are doing wonderful work.

The Dogri language once had its own script known as Tikri Script. But now written in Devanagri Script.
