Turkey says they just can't afford total lock down despite numbers...
England and parts of America are already preparing to slowly ease up lock down...

Spain is already preparing to lift lock down slowly and selectively, despite having high numbers...

What is the basis for locking down a nation whose numbers have not scratched the surface in 2 months (the same time frame things fell apart abroad)??!...

There are only three States that are on Federal Lockdown...Lagos, Ogun and FCT.

The remaining 33 States are not on compulsory Federal Lockdown

The question now is what is the fate of the vast poor and hungry Nigerians who have been surviving and living from hand to mouth before this lockdown was announced?
May God help and deliver us from this invisible enemy called Covid-19.
the invisible enemy is nod the covid-19 virus rather your president is. just give 2000 naira each to all valid bvn holders and people will be able to cope with the lockdown

Lock Lagos down serve them food for Jigawa, continue.

Its really shameful, Buhari has carried tribalism to a new height!
His Huanitarian Minister, Zainab is a bloody rogue.
But Buhari has always being a bigot, remeber he was the one who canceled the 'Paid-for' Lagos Metro Line in 1983, he hates Southerners with a passion but keeps pretending and we fell for it.

There is a fundamental flaw in the reasoning and arguement of people like you (no offense).
When you say the the Coronavirus numbers in Nigeria is low, compared to other countries say like Turkey, UK, etc, what you dont understand is that you are comparing Apples and Oranges!

Yes, it is low in Nigeria, not because the contamination is low in Nigeria but because WE ARE NOT TESTING WIDELY, IF AT ALL.
How can you discover the virus, especially those who are asymptotic, when you have NO TESTING PROGRAM AT ALL?
All the contries you are comparing Nigeria to, are countries doing an average of 100,000 tests per day! Just imagine!!

Germany does almost One million test sper day, Nigeria does none and you want our numbers of infected to compare?

And finally, the rationale for a COMPLETE, NATIONWIDE LOCKDOWN for at least two weeks, is to compensate for the lack of testing and rather identify dormant cases that will be full blown within those two weeks, while preventing new people from contracting the virus via community transfer.
If you lock down one state and leave its three neighbours to roam freely, you are just wating the time of the locked stated because they would be re-infected by the Covidiots from the other states left un;ocked.
The last two weeks of selective lockdown was a complete waste fo time, it achieved nothing and our leaders are too dumb to realise this.
We are lucky that egenrally speaking, our immunity maybe on the better side than that of Westerners who are not used to povery like us but the next two to three weeks will expose the "wisdom" of this nepotisticand tribalistic Major General Bullhari

this thing is a dilemma, u can't leave people spreading a deadly virus around in the name of hunger (not really hunger in the case of many honestly, just stupidity ) , and u can't let hunger kill people while locking them down, but the lockdown is better bacause, if there's life, there's hope. Many of us don't really know what's called survival.

Nigerians are easy to manage, and are ready to stay safe and indoors.
The main problems are our leaders, who will prefer remaining insincere with the promised palliatives!

Well written points sir... However, I still fail the actual "flaw" in my reasoning here.

I'm not asking for comparable numbers (can anyone be that dumb?)... I merely pointed out the how unrealistic and counter productive the last lock down was, and even the new one. Thank God, you already saw it too.

Indeed, we will bear full witness to the very "wisdom" of Buhari in the weeks to come. May God help us all! I seriously pity the average Nigerian!!!

Countries far worse off than Nigeria in terms of infected cases, hospitalized, and deaths are easing up lock down gradually, in order to help their economy... Turkey is doing only partial lock down cos they can't afford to die economically...

On the other hand, a nation somewhere in Africa with a near comatose economy, barely scratching the surface in terms of pandemic numbers is trying to bury her struggling economy in a pointless lock down just to appear to be "doing something"!!!... What manner of dumb eye service is this??!

Oh.. you're complaining of the lockdown.... The financial raping, embezzlements and wanton borrowings will make you nauseated. Plenty questions will be asked when this is all over.... Let's hope things end in good time.
