It is really unfortunate. It is not just tribalism, crude ignorance is also at play. That is why some of us have been doing our best to enlighten some of these ignorant folks.

Firstly, the only state government that Buhari has supported with money to fight the Covid-19 pandemic is Lagos. At the start of the crisis, N10billion was given to Lagos State government to fight the virus. Something last week, Gov. Wike of Rivers lamented that it was only Lagos that got the financial support. Today, they have now shifted the narrative to read that Jigawa is getting palliatives and Lagos is not getting.

As regards the sharing of food items, FG had made it clear that it had delivered all the food items to state governments. It is left for the various state governments to put in place the necessary mechanism to share the items to their prople. If some state governments are more effective in distributing the items than the others, it’s not Buhari’s fault.
