I hate maths like poison.

Thus; does maths have a practical daily life attachment and implementation or is it just a theoretical program?

n2 = [2S + d-2a]/d
Or

n = [(2S + d-2a)/d] ^0.5

You set your own question. grin

S=[n(2a+(n-1)d]/2
open bracket
S=2an+nd-d/2
cross multiple
2S=2an+nd
factor n out from left hand side
2S=n(2a+d)
divide both side by 2a+d

n=2s/2a+d QED
