LGBTQ Site Says Coronavirus 'Is Punishment For Conservative Christians'

A writer for a popular LGBTQ website argued this week the novel coronavirus is God’s “punishment for conservative Christians.”

Mark Segal, a contributor for LGBTQ Nation, penned an article published Wednesday, “If HIV was God’s punishment for gays, then coronavirus is punishment for conservative Christians.”

The crux of his piece hinges on the old (though hardly widespread) argument among some that HIV was somehow God’s direct punishment for homosexuality. With that fringe perspective in mind, Segal wrote:

God must now be angry with religious people by striking the headquarters of the world’s religions with the COVID-19: Rome, headquarters of Catholics; Athens, the headquarters of Greek Orthodoxy; Moscow, the headquarters of Russian orthodoxy; London, home of the Anglican communion; Mecca, home of Muslims; Jerusalem, home of Jewish faith; and Salt Lake City, home of the Mormons.

Trying to back up his claim, Segal suggested San Francisco — a city “fundamentalists apparently consider … the capital of the LGBTQ world,” he wrote — has fewer COVID-19 cases and deaths than major international cities that hold religious significance.

“Now let’s compare and see what God’s wrath is,” he wrote. “San Francisco has under 1,000 cases and only 12 deaths. All of the headquarters cities of the world’s major religions, religions that at one point or another have discriminated against the LGBTQ community, have more cases and more deaths than San Francisco. San Francisco is the least affected of all the cities.”

As of 9 a.m. Friday, the City by the Bay, with a population just shy of 900,000 people, had 1,019 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 17 deaths, according to the San Francisco Department of Public Health. By comparison, Salt Lake City, Utah, which has a population of around 1.2 million people, has 1,388 confirmed cases and 13 deaths.

Concerning the type of Christian I was, yes I will tell you. I was a fervent born-again Christian until I received Revelations about the truth of nature and since then I have been receiving Revelations upon Revelations about the truth of reality.

Lol. I was just laffing when I read your ignorant posts. You even asked at a point if I was gay. For real? The little passage of the BOOK OF TRUTH I posted here doesn't represent who I am. It doesn't even represent 1/10,000th of what I had compiled in the BOOK OF UNIVERSAL HISTORY so far. There is virtually no thread on nairaland that I won't have a reference for in the Book of Universal History, because the book is very voluminous, so why are you thinking that this passage I wrote down here is what I practise? So, if I should post the story of Nemonis and Stevin here, you would have called me a worshipper of stone or trees because one of the characters I mentioned actually worships tree or stone.
As for what Christian Denomination I belong, I choose to remain silent on that. I didn't leave Christianity because of a problem, I left religion because I saw the LIGHT. I saw the other sides of the universe and I saw truth and within two years, I have compiled a history more voluminous than the Bible almost times 2.
My case is like the case of someone whose status was raised higher than the status of the god he was worshipping after he discovered how his god was created. I discovered when and how Jehovah was created, what created him, what he stands for etc. and then I was given the mission to keep him encaged for a thousand years. This is Jehovah's fourth year in the spiritual cage and he has 996 more years to stay in that vegetative state.

These are not Ignorant questions. I understand you might feel my questions seem like an attack on you but it's none of that. I want to understand you first before anything else.

I understand that sometimes gays have got this creative side that the Devil is always quick to exploit and that's because lots of Christian that tend to at first quickly ostracize and stigmatise these gays which leads to many of them becoming more AntiChristian. There are some gays that have been handled better by Christian groups and many of them have come to realise that they are not the enemies but the sin itself is the enemy. Now, you ain't coming out clear to me if you were gay or not so I will let that slide. Now, you said you got some new knowledge of "Light". No disrespect but virtually every cult claims that. The JWs always talk about they and everyother religion were inspected and they were found out to be the "Truth". They always talk about "Old Light" and "Current New Light". The Grail Message talks about "In the Light of Truth" and having the answers to all questions, etcetera.

So you really don't have any Revelation called "The Book of Truth". How do I know?!
