Really, you mean Governors earn more than Senators? Why does Governors go for Senators after finishing their tenures as Governors?

What's the motivation?
to still be reckoned with. Gbenga Daniel for example was a former governor. Who sends him now Every state in Nigeria get about 1 to 4 billion on average a month. A governor will chop over 20% of that. Ajimobi used to chop 50% of all contracts in oyo

In Nigeria after President its governors then ministers before senators.

Ask yourself why senators go to contest Governorship election if senate was better.

Ask yourself too why Akpabio that was a senator refused to go for his rerun by inec after Buhari declared him minister.

Senators are not that rich most Moneys they use to flex is moneys for constituency projects they embezzled

Nope

Gofment salary is rather poor

The fatcats get fat off the fat they add to their monthly income via graft, bribe, embezzlement, looting, and kickbacks.

The reason you see a serving senator leaving the senate to go an contest for a governorship seat but can you tell me one serving governor in Nigeria that decided to leave his governorship seat to run for Senate. Do the calculation yourself.

If buhari could not change anything in how resources are allocated in 8 years.
Then what has he done? Why did he run for 4 consecutive times?

Where is the change ,because this should be the first line of business for any serious govt.

Vote Peter obi in 2023. He is the only that can curb this incessant federal waste.

If a senator earns more than a governor, then I see no sense why a senator would leave his seat to become a deputy governor of Bayelsa state, knowing how money influences politicians in this country.

This just shows alotta people don't know about the hierarchy of governance, it's obvious the caricature is wrong. All arms of government are technically equal in power;be it,the executive, legislature, and judiciary.
With that said, how can anyone compare a governor to a senator? if you look at it from an election perspective, leaving the monetary remuneration aside;a governor test his/her popularity in a whole state while a senator is confine to just a senatorial district in such a state.
A gubernatorial position will always be more important that a senatorial one in a democratic government.

The ones saying Senators make more money than governors are very stupid persons. The smallest and Poorest states like Ekiti, Benue and Ebonyi and co receive nothing less than 2-3 billion naira every month. The governor will at least eat 30-40% of that money. Assuming we stick to the 3 billion naira, that is 900 million the governor is pocketing every month. We have not taken into account the IGR from the state, the security votes fund or Salary, benefit and allowances. Now an average senator with the salary and allowances earn 29 million naira per month. Except for the 100 million they are given every year as constituency project fund, budget padding money and money they get from their various commitee. So compare you can see that a Governor earns far more than a Senator.

Not earn, keyword is make. Governors make more cos they award more contracts. they go to the senate to remain in politics, to remain employed. will you employ a former governor in your company?
Senators leave the senate to become governors:Okowa(delta), Douye diri,(Bayelsa),Imoke(fmr cross river) etc
