The same way we don't have to be Buhari's close friend or associate to know the kind of person he is.

Those who believe that Abba Kyari was a good man will one day tell the world that Abubakar Shekau of Boko Haram is a good man - and why not?

We do not have a personal relationship with him so how can we be certain that he is not.

Shekau, the Boko Haram leadee, may have done so much for his fighters. He may be taking care of their families - which in fact explain why they have been so faithful to him as to not mind laying down their lives for his evil cause.

Don't you think?

But that's precisely where the problem lies with subjective reasoning.

How good a leader is or otherwise cannot be measured through the prism of personal relationship and interactions because that in itself proves that the leader isn't ‘truly’ good.

Not everyone would have had access to Kyari even if he were to be the Chief of Staff to Buhari for the next 50 years.

It is True that not everyone would have access to Buhari till he leaves office.

Quite frankly, people do not need to have personal contact with their leader to know the kind of person they are.

Why do I need to have personal access to a national leader to know how good they are when I can feel the pulse of their ‘good’ through the policies they enact and the quality of their leadership?

Abba Kyari was the de facto president of Nigeria who wielded so much power. He was the most powerful man in Aso Rock. Nothing happened in Nigeria without late Kyari assenting to it. And I mean, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Buhari was just and has always been a ceremonial president. Kyari ran the government. Kyari gave directives and orders that Buhari didn't even have knowledge of. That was how powerful Kyari was in his position as CoS.

He could do and undo. He had the power to influence a lot that would better the lives of Nigerians.

But what did he do?

He abused the privileged position of power that he found himself in, forgetting that power is transient.

I will cite just one instance of Kyari's misdeeds that had a direct consequence on Nigerias preparation against coronavirus.

It was Abba Kyari who in October 2018 stripped the Ministry of Health of its powers to procure anything and transferred the authority to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development due to a power play between him and then Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, according to a Punch report.

Kyari wanted to prove that nothing could be done in the Ministry of Health without him and when Isaac Adewole, the Professor Minister refused to let an 'ordinary' Kyari order him around, not only did Kyari strip the health ministry of its powers to procure anything and transferred the authority to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development just to prove that he was powerful

Kyari made sure that Adewole was removed from office 8 months later, for no justifiable reason other than to prove a point, and he refused to reverse the directive that stripped the health ministry of its powers to procure items meant for the health ministry without going through the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

It was this singular and reckless display of power by Kyari in 2018 that slowed down preparations for the prevention of Coronavirus in Nigeria, despite the Federal Government releasing N386m to scale up preparation to tackle the pandemic on February 21, 2020.

Imagine the Ministry of Health having to make formal requests for sensitive materials needed to fight coronavirus through the Agric ministry and waiting for days on to get approval all because of Kyaris quest for power and youll realize the damage that Kyari did to Nigeria.

For once in your life, use your brain to think. What is the correlation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Health?

Late Kyari was culpable for manslaughter.

Sad thing is, that is one of Kyaris many misdeeds that innocent Nigerians are paying for.

There is nothing about the man that Nigeria and Nigerians will miss.

For those saying late Kyari did the bidding of his boss, Buhari, and therefore should be exonerated from the failures of the Buhari regime. Lets pretend to agree with your line of thought.

Now please answer this: What does that make Abba Kyari?

Not to forget.

It was same Abba Kyari that Aisha Buhari, the presidents own wife accused of hijacking the government.

In June 2016, it was same Abba Kyari that Kaduna State Governor, Nasir ElRufai, accused, together with Babachir Lawal, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, of being careless in a memo he had written to the president.

It was same Abba Kyari who collected a bribe of N500 million to help cut down the fine of $5 billion imposed on MTN by the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) for a security-related infraction.

It was Abba Kyari whom the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno accused of jumping into the security affairs of the nation.

Mr. Monguno even warned that all service chiefs should desist from taking directives from late Kyari without president Buharis knowledge which in fact lends credence to my claim that Kyari acted on several occasions during his reign as CoS without Buharis knowledge.

Here is an excerpt of the letter Mr. Monguno had written:

"Chief of staff to the President is not a presiding head of security, neither is he sworn to an oath of defending the country. As such, unprofessional practices such as presiding over meetings with service chiefs and heads of security organisations as well as ambassadors and high commissioners to the exclusion of the NSA and/or supervising ministers are a violation of the Constitution and directly undermine the authority of Mr President.

Such acts and continued meddlesomeness by the chief of staff have not only ruptured our security and defense efforts, but have slowed down any meaningful gain that Mr. President has sought to achieve," he said.

In 2017, the then Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, accused Mr Kyari of blocking him from seeing the president over matters relating to the ministry.

Abba Kyaris daughter was also secretly appointed as an assistant vice president at the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), a position that Nigerians were riled that it was never publicly advertised.

Kyaris notable ills is perhaps how he reportedly influenced the President to discard Vice President Yemi Osinbajos request for approval for funds to continue his role in resolving the deadly farmers-herdsmen crisis.

Mr Kyari was said to have approached the president with a similar proposal after rubbishing Mr Osinbajos request before the president.

Kyari was also allegedly involved in scrapping of the Economic Management Team (EMT) which Mr Osinbajo headed and this was replaced with the Economic Advisory Council (EAC).

To prove that Kyari and Buhari are birds of same feather, Buhari further strengthened the position of his ally when he warned that only memos that go through the late chief of staff would get his attention.

Is this a man whose death Nigerians should mourn?

I'd like to complete this piece by warning that we are in perilous times. This is not a time to sit on the fence and watch as actions of up-to-no-good politicians undermine the collective interests of Nigerians.

We need to learn to throw political correctness in the trash bin where it belongs and start to call a spade a spade. An evil man does not become good because he is dead.

Abba Kyari had enormous powers to positively affect Nigerians but he chose to abuse it.

You only have to imagine what if Mr. Kyari had done things differently prior to his death?

Power is transient. Maybe if every politician lives in the consciousness that not even death would erase the memories of what they did whilst in position of authority, they would act more responsibly and in the interest of all Nigerians.

Truth is, he was part of the elite that made laws for masses and obeyed none of it.
He travelled and came back from Coronavirus-prone areas; he refused to quarantine and infected his staff and many others. He was flown to Lagos and admitted to high class hospital not accredited by NCDC.. he broke every law. When he died, his family and friends disobeyed social distancing laws... which has further spread the disease. He didnt give AF about masses and law. His covid19 situation confirmed what we read about him.. Selfish and breaker of laws, procedures and protocols

I remembered that spat she had with him! True to type (they never forgive or forget), not only was she relieved of her post, but they hung corruption charges on her neck to sully her reputation, and dragged her through the courts! Just like me, i doubt she would be shedding any tears over his demise...which was entirely his fault!

Power is transient. Maybe if every politician lives in the consciousness that not even death would erase the memories of what they did whilst in position of authority, they would act more responsibly and in the interest of all Nigerians.

if they ask you to provide proof for all the accusations you write here you will start blabbing to no point. Have you ever been a leader? Can you swear that you lead according to the wishes of all your followers. People like you are only good in criticizing they can never be able lead a group of ten men. You have local government chairman what is he doing, you have national and state legislatives , what have they done? You have Governors what is their work.
We know Buhari as the president of this country (military/civilian). you who are you?
The scripture says PETER I KNOW,PAUL I KNOW. WHO ARE YOU?
