Trump: We are very close to creating a vaccine

Today, Trump, US President confirmed that the country is very close to getting a Vaccine. While he confirmed that clinical trials for product will start being trialled in the coming weeks. In his press, he went on to state that great progress is being made at great pace in the fight against the pandemic. The President also confirmed that sunlight, humidity and UV Ray kills the virus quickly but also went ahead to state that it would be irresponsible for its Taskforce to say that summer weather would kill the virus. Obviously, the government is trying to avoid encouraging people to come out in the sun just to kill the virus. The President said that people need to practice safe hygiene, social distancing, washing of hands and wearing of mask. He made a bold claim stating that the country has made more testing than other countries combined. He stated that most figures coming from other countries were inaccurate as they are not as advance in testing like the U.S.



The President stated that the country is expecting 5 million masks and already gave 300,000 masks to a hospital which was exhausted in a matter of hours. He went on to state that all states have ventilators.

The Taskforce believes that once the number goes down in New York which is the State that is most affected other state will go down.

U.S Vice President also expressed hopes that the disease will be over by Summer which also gives us an idea of how far the country has gone to find a cure. Also note worthy is the declining rate of the number of infected people in the country. the country is facing a very high unemployment rate coupled with current long queues for food, the President thanks Harvard for rejecting funds recently approved by the government to help small businesses grow.

On the other, South Africa is also experiencing a similar situation as the lockdown as greatly affected its economy. And the country have now come out to state that it will ease its restriction as from May 1.

In Nigeria, news reaching us says that governors have agreed to have a 14 day national lockdown despite the long queues for food, the hunger virus, high rate of crime etc The country needs to look inward and find a solution because our economy is peculiar. With the drop in price of crude oil Nigeria faces a huge test ahead with recession looming.

I believe that once the number of infected people in Lagos and Kano goes down other States will go down. People should avoid spreading unconfirmed news like that of what happened at Badore today as it causes panic. Obey health instructions and protect yourself.
