Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has faulted the decision of Presidents of West African countries under the aegis of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, to appoint President, Major General (Retd.) Buhari as the ”Champion” that will coordinate the COVID-19 response in the sub-region. Recall that ECOWAS leaders had a teleconference yesterday where they hailed President Buhari for the manner in which Nigeria has so far handled the Coronavirus pandemic and also appointed him as the ”Champion coordinator” for COVID-19 response in the sub-region. Reacting to the appointment, FFK said this is a mistake as President Buhari can barely manage himself. He said ECOWAS will regret the appointment given to Buhari because it was an error. ”The greatest mistake that the ECOWAS leaders have made is to appoint @MBuhari as the leader of the fight against Covid 19. This is a cataclysmic error which they will deeply regret. I remember he was appointed to champion the fight against corruption in West Africa sometime ago, which makes me wonder how a man hiding under the false cloak of integrity and a well known crook could make it to the list of considerable, reputable and resourceful people. Imagine appointing a man that doesn't even know how to pronounce the name of the virus as champion that will coordinate COVID-19 response in the region. What an anomaly. The only thing Buhari is expert at championing are his herd of cows, looting, Islamization agenda and of course, religious terrorism. 1 Like |
