Some gunmen have kidnapped the Ekiti State Commissioner for Agriculture, Folorunso Olabode.

A councillor and leader in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of the state, Olatunji Omotosho, who was with him was shot dead on the spot.

SaharaReporters gathered that the incident took place between Isan and Iludun-Ekiti area of the state.

Isan is the hometown of Governor Kayode Fayemi.

A security source, who spoke with SaharaReporters, said they were attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

It's true. It happened yesterday evening. I learnt he was kidnapped along with his woman friend on their way to Ado from his place in Iye. There was no mention of Fulani herdsmen but I suspect them and the indigenes. Someone told me yesterday that armed robbers and kidnappers that operate on that road are mostly from Iludun. The person added that criminal activities are very common on that route despite a police station located close by. The Ekiti state government need to urgently do something about the security situation in that area. Thanks.
