Throwback:
It is now that Kano will suffer for its own inherited shortcomings.

A large population who are under the shackles of religious culture, poverty and habitual disorderliness, is a recipe for chaos.

People should not blame the Governor. If he did not succumb to the demands of a vast, hungry, and religious mob, it could have resulted to a toppling of the constitutional government. The same way such mobs have overran police stations to lynch suspects who have been accused of blasphemy.

Don't blame the Governor, for without such illogical and irrational concessions, his regime would have ended before the next weekend.

The Governor knows that Kano's version of 1million boys would not just attack the vulnerable residents, but would effect a statewide crises/uprising that will affect the rich and the political. So better to create a window of normal life to ease their discomfort.

However, it is very promising seeing that most Northern governors are employing the current chaos as an opportunity to correct some of the archaic habits that have been previously resisted, like the Almajiri problem.

As a sound administrator, never let an opportunity to employ a prevailing chaos to effect resisted change pass by.

You be man wey dey think wella. You obviously sound like someone who understands the dynamics of the northern part of this country especially Kano State.

The Governor can't afford to relegate the wishes of the common masses that made him retain power either by hook or crook. In Kano, the cult like atmosphere can't just be ignored. It's time for the Governor to reciprocate gesture of re-election or risk unquatifiable chaos. It's as simple as that. Hence why Gandollars is panicky!

For those of you wishing Kano people deaths as if we are not in the same country, can you tell me the rationale behind this abi it's because you people think Kano is just the Hausas. Let me tell you the more Kano is affected, the more worry we should become as Kano is the center of commerce with diverse tribes majorly of the Igbos and Yorubas .We are all in these together,we should pray for God to come to our rescue

I wish no one death. Our heartless leaders starting from the president who refused to close airports and borders early to our governors who are not taking the Covid-19 serious are the ones that put us in this mess. Your life and everyone's life is on stake.

If Sanusi was still the Emir and was respected by Ganduje and all Kano citizens, the situation in Kano would not be like this. Sanusi is well educated and knows much about modern happenings. He would have given strict laws to the Kano citizens to stop public gatherings, stop movements to Kano and take the Covid 19 serious. He would have been in the better position of educating them on the seriousness of the pandemic. But now Kano have only illiterates leading them. Some of them still don't believe in Covid 19.

Kano would take over Lagos as the hot bed of Covid 19 by next month. Save this post. People would die like chickens in the north in the next few months.

Just hear how u sound. Who makes u God or Sunusi?

I won't be surprised of the number of cases nationwide hits 10,000. Could it hit 100,000?

By then, however, I feel other countries around the world will be able to come to our aid or we are finished. By then, I am sure most countries would have contained the pandemic by then.

Its inevitable it will spread and it is spreading in nigeria- Lagos, and then Kano(who still don't know anything is going on and are still talking of 'strange' deaths with their confused governor) If our testing capacity is increased and this lockdown is lifted, millions will be found positive.
Majority of infected people will not die, but in absolute numbers, those that die will still be a very large figure if care isn't taken - tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands
Perhaps if we can maintain this social distancing of a thing, appropriate face masks and go everywhere using our hand sanitizers every 30minutes, we may avoid so many deaths.

Am iron hand approach like that of the technocrats El rufai is what's needed and not the soft touch method of Mr. President which frankly speaking is a recipe for disaster.

Absolutely on the iron hand , but i think state governors have to be the ones at the forefront , and the presidency can only give support here and there.
Kaduna state, Lagos state are trying a bit to contain things and trying their best to avoid crowded social gatherings/ meeting places in their states.
But some states still think its a joke and are not preparing at all.
Everyone should just be careful

That was what some religious people in Rome, UK, Spain and US said yet people died like chickens. What technology do we have in Nigeria to fight this virus better than the developed countries did?

Nice decision by Kano state government.
The total lockdown order is only adding salt to the fresh injuries. Ease the lockdown, the masses will only obey government and ncdc directives if they believed the government sympathize with them.

Most Governors, are not cut out or ready to Governor, what attracted them to the position is just money and power.

Coronavirus is exposing them one by one, and they are getting frustrated by the day. I wouldn’t be surprise in a few months, to see some Governor that will start resigning from office for a chance to go hide and save themselves.

What else will I say? It is unfortunate! This is not a general election. Kano State should not compete to have the highest number of Covid-19 patients in Nigeria.
