Anybody who cannot spend N5,000 a day is a poor man. We are talking about $15 dollars here. Ordinary Hollandia yoghurt is N500. If you drink one and your wife drink one, N1k don go so. Your children can share one. Nah N1,500 so. When una chop for morning, as per management levels, N1,000 don go so. Meal for 4 people cooked to leverage number. Afternoon food, N1,000. So for evening. Brother nah N4,500 don comot. Only food. Okay, rent, school fees, transportation, vehicle maintenance, NEPA, Gas, Recharge card, fuel for generator and all other hidden expenses that are not exhausted on daily basis. N2,500 per day. Nah, N7,000 we dey so for a standard family of 4 persons. How many men earn N7000 by 30 days ? N210,000 per month ? This is not even wholistic. No subscription fees for DSTV or vacation. For the benefit of this report, 85% of Nigerians are under poverty line. I am among the Passionate few. |

...that number has even been manipulated just to please APC and Buhari. Imagine that they do a good job.. How can any sane people leave the economy in the hands of illiterate who believe not in wealth creation but in wealth sharing to his poor people whose main handwork is violence, killing and marrying underage kids... |

goldmatrix: Although NBS claims it's due to a change in methodology, the headline figure of 40% flatters our political leaders as it is way lower than before: The National Bureau of Statistics said 60.9% of Nigerians in 2010 were living in "absolute poverty" - this figure had risen from 54.7% in 2004. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-17015873 It seems more like face saving report. |

Davash222: Its not an APC or buhari thing, poverty has always been a stigma on Nigeria..it may surprise you to know that Nigeria isnt the poorest country but has the most number of poor people in the world...that is, per head. |
