Arsene Wenger wins World Coach of the Decade award

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has won the International Federation of Football History & Statistics World Coach of the Decade award.

The IFFHS, founded in 1984, was created to compile records and statistics on football globally. The body produces rankings for clubs all over the world, as well as for individual players.

Their World Coach of the Decade prize is based on the combination of points from the organisation’s Coach of the Year polls. Although Wenger has never won the annual vote, Arsenal’s consistent performances have always ensured that he has been a finalist each year. Now the IFFHS has combined all the points from the past ten years to award a one-off Coach of the Decade award. 

The Frenchman came out ahead of Manchester United’s legendary Sir Alex Ferguson and treble winning Inter hero Jose Mourinho to win the award. Wenger triumphed with 156 points, while Ferguson fell just behind with 148. Mourinho finished in third place with 135 points

In this period Wenger won the league twice, won the FA cup 3 times, consistently got to the quarter finals of champions legue for 10 years. Arsene won the communuity shield at least 2 times and finally the only manager to have won the leugue UNBEATEN in the premier leugue.

We should analyse objectively and not based on club loyalty as we do not know more than the football pundits who voted him to win. Producing players of high quality is not the same as buying ready made players. Mourinho is a wonderful great manager but i am not aware of much players he groomed and developed except one or two at Porto.

Mourinho-2 CLs in 6 years within the same period.
Ancelotti-2 CLs in 4 years within the same period.
Arsene Wenger-0 CL.
English Premier League
Mourinho-2 EPL titles back-to-back 2000-2010
Ferguson-6 EPL titles including 3 in a row in the same period
Arsene Wenger-2 titles,never able to defend his league title, and presentl unable to win the title for the 5 straight seasons.

Just a sample of his short-comings.How then is he the coach of the decade based on the above.
