Nine cases previously announced as discharged cases, were reported in error. Therefore, there are 417 cases that have been discharged

One case reported in Nasarawa was a repeat test. The state has a total of 11 confirmed cases

Highlights
On the 4th of May 2020, 245 new confirmed cases and 6 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.

Till date, 2802 cases have been confirmed, 417 cases have been discharged and 93 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory

The 245 new cases are reported from 16 states- Lagos(76), Katsina(37), Kano(23), FCT(19), Jigawa(32), Borno(18), Edo(10), Bauchi(9), Adamawa(6) Oyo(5), Ogun(5), Ekiti(1), Osun(1), Benue(1), Niger(1), Zamfara(1)

We have to understand that Nigeria's case right now can only be salvaged by God. Nigeria cannot survive lockdown to effectively tackle the spread of this pandemic, yet coming out to look for food will be at risk of contacting the virus. Now is the time to see the consequences of electing our past and present leaders. We will all suffer it together.

Honestly I don't know what to believe again, is it pawpaw and goats testing positive or states deliberately inflating figures.

A quick glance through the update shows much higher figures in the Northern states. This is worrisome because the weather is hotter there.

I should mention that as the rains begin and everywhere is damp and cool the incidence of infection will explode. Viruses of virtually any type absolutely thrive in cool and damp areas. It's really an issue.


Also important, the lockdown cannot continue or hunger will wipe out the masses. We should learn not to throw fancy words around. When you talk about lockdown, then the government must be fully capable and ready to provide for the masses. A lockdown without palliatives will fail woefully even in the advanced countries.

I hope we won't start seeing dead bodies littering around everywhere very soon

My anger is that we have overtaken Ghana again.lagos still topping the charts,I don't know why Edo case is worsening.perhaps its because obaseki failed to lockdown early.
