The National Executive Body of Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD NUPENG) is has liifted the sanction it imposed on Anambra State which barred Petrol Tanker Drivers from bringing their product into Anambra State.

The ban was necessitated as a result of the activities of some hoodlums at the Onitsha bridgehead who usually stop, search, harass, intimidate and extort money from tanker drivers bringing petroleum products into Anambra State.

When Hon. Peter Nwosu, the SSA to the Governor on Nupeng Petroleum and Union Matters, got wind of the activities of the miscreants, he visited the locus inqou and was informed that the group had the backing of the Anambra Police CP and some powerful Abuja based forces in the oil and gas sector.

Hon. Peter Nwosu alongside other executives of PTD NUPENG, IPMAN and other petroleum Related Union Visited the Anambra CP who vehemently denied the aspersion cast on his name by the faceless group and further mobilized men of the Nigeria police to round up the hoodlums.

After the arrest and subsequent release of the hoodlums due to the covid19 and the closure of the courts.

The miscreants went back to Onitsha bridgehead and continued with their nefarious activities, thus necessitating the hammer of the National Body of PTD NUPENG to fall on Anambra State via sanctions.

Hon. Peter Nwosu used his comradeship to engage the leadership of the Union, he subsequently ensured that the miscreants were rearrested by the Anambra State Criminal Investigation Department (State CID).

The hoodlums knowing fully well that the game was over for them as their supposedly powerful forces left them to their fate, further, signed an undertaken before the Anambra State Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of SCID, never to obstruct the tanker drivers bringing Petroleum products into Anambra State.

*Following, the intervention of Hon. Peter Nwosu whose action has once again proven the rightness of the decision of His Excellency Chief Sir. Willie Obiano to appoint a comrade and a unionist in the personality of Hon. Peter Nwosu to hold the ace in the Anambra State Petroleum Sector as his SSA on Nupeng Petroleum and Union Matters.*
