I've seen a lot of people raining curses on Wike for demolishing the Hotel in Eleme. While I don't support the way he handle things, I believe RULES should be obeyed.

As we have seen over the last few weeks, Nigeria doesn't have what it takes to handle a full blown Corona virus, even the US are finding it difficult to keep things in check.

So let's always obey any rule the Government puts in place.

I just knew there was more to that story. Nigerians are lawless. I wish the Northern governors have the same audacity to enforce strict compliance.

Nothing can justify the demolition of those properties, not even an executive order.

The hoteliers violated an order, not the constitution, even if the constitution was violated, only the court can determine the extent of punishment, not the governor.

Wike has set a precedent which means anytime there’s a lockdown, he has the right to demolish any building flouting his order


Since a hotel can be demolished for flouting wike’s order then humans can be shot at sight for flouting the order, if the hotelier (a lie from his apologist, cause the owner was in Lagos when this was reported) shot at the task force, what’s wrong in prosecuting him in the court of law, will the demolished hotel give justice to the wounded task force member?

If you’re an investor and you read bout wike’s executive order which gives power to demolish private structures without going to court, will you still invest in that kind of state?

You said Covid19 patients were traced to the hotel, at least they passed through the land border wike has been vigorously securing or they drop down from heaven?

There’s no greater evil than killing a fellow human or taking away his source of livelihood.

He still has more years to demolish rivers building, enjoy it while it last, Not even the president has that kind of power to invoke executive orders when the country is not in a state of emergency

There are plenty houses built on government land, no government has the right to demolish it until a court decides.... Incase the owner takes up the matter in court, you think executive order will supersede the constitution or whose coffer will damages be paid from... rivers state of course

Look beyond breaking wike’s order, look at the human right abuse, tyranny and dictatorial tendency this order carry, just imagine demolishing a structure cause of imaginary virus we haven’t seen the victim, the isolation centers nor the medical workers treating them, now all deaths are Covid19 related

You are right rules SHOULD be obeyed. The most important rule is the constitution.

The constitution guarantees the right to property and the right to a fair hearing.

That means no citizen should lose their property without a fair hearing in a competent court.

There is no place in the constitution for the same person to make the rules,prescribe a punishment ,try an offender and then punish them.


Did Wike obey the constitution.

By your reasoning if Wike apprehends armed robbers he would be right to order their execution?
The correct thing to do is seal the property and get a demolition order from a court.

The said guy is a pdp youth leader..he brandished a gun and fired as a sign of toughness..he probably thought he was beyond reproach from a governor from the same camp...he thought wrong.

Members of the task force were beaten by a pdp youth leader who is not the owner of the hotel, is that enough reason to demolish the hotel.

They will always come with flimsy excuses to justify there madness.

It is still not enough justification to demolish the Hotel.

How do we even know the Government is not lying? Was the man tried in court? Is there no law protecting government officials from harrassment and assault? Which court tried the suspect and gave Wike the go-ahead to demolish the hotel?

Yes, no hotel is as important as one life. Yet if the owner of the hotel had gunned down 10 people, it will still be wrong to shoot him or destroy his property without resort to a court trial.

All these articles coming out to justify the demolition are all after thought.

Even if they harassed or even shot at govt official this is not the way to go about it.

We will justify this until he gives another executive order to shoot at sight anyone disobeying the lockdown and when its done people will still come out to justify it by saying the people coming out now are criminals etc.

Wike cannot be police, prosecutor, judge and jury at the same time in a democracy.

I know all these muslims must still find a way to criminalize wike especially since he pronounced rivers state to be a christian state, they will never rest, always bitter at every action of the man whether good or bad.
