alphanyx:I agreed with you to some extent. The only problem I have with the driver was his unkindness to the patient thru the remarks he made. Even at that, he could be cautioned n severely warned. Even most hospital staff ate like that. Death means nothing to them again. |

Kdon2: Really? That's very unprofessional imo for him to say that. Even the patient and the stretcher were not properly secured. No PPE worn and I think only one of them was wearing gloves. It is well sha. Thanks for the enlightenment. |

Kdon2: I am so surprised that people are passing comments ignorantly. The man in that picture is not a COVID-19 patient but a mentally sick person. He used to live in that building on Taiwo road, Ilorin. The house was sold out and the new owner is demolishing and renovating but the man, instead of looking for other house/apartment decided to turn his car into a house, doing everything there (you know!). The neighbours were uncomfortable with that nuisance and decided to call on COVID-19 Team (whose contact phone numbers had been well publicised) because of partial lockdown and refusal of few available vehicles to transport him. The COVID-19 ambulance was sent to take him to hospital for psychological treatment. The driver didn't handle the evacuation well. You could hear him abusing the man. That is what the Governor referred to! Kwara State has a solid COVID-19 technical committee, rapid response team, isolation centres and excellent medial personnels enviable to other state. |

To sack only d driver is unfair. Who gave him permission to work in health environment without necessary kits? How sent him on d Eran? Who gave d policy which allows him to handle patients? Is it even d drivers duty to carry patients or was he there alone without health officials? This is treating malaria with paracetamol, do the needful from the TOP! |

overall90:Don't mind the fulanini slave governor. From what transpired it has not warranted a sack in such an emergency. Though the driver did not take necessary precautions. Obviously, he is ill informed and cannot do any better than his level. You could see he has not been properly trained. This goes to say that the governor that is pointing accusing fingers must not forget four is pointing at him. Where is government training here, where is adequate human resources, where is proper logistic as the ambulance should only be called after a call is put through for this emergency. Where is leadership from a failing governor, who has not put proper logistics in place like Lagos did despite having few cases in kwara state. A governor that is governing a yoruba state and does not deem it fit to align his state with other south west governors for amotekun for security reassurance in face of insecurity in Nigeria. But his foolish delusion that kwara belong to the north is what he puts in his mind. When chips are down I trust my yoruba brothers they will correct this distasteful expansionism illegally foisted upon the people of south west by northern brainless impostors in the name of politics. Useless leaders like these tries to hog head line by any means to revive their dead selves. People like this governor, Yusuf of Kogi state and wike of Rivers are included in this. They stood for nothing even if people continue to suffer or die they don't care only money and power matters to them. |

Alhaji1970: In what universe do you ring covid response team to attend to a psychiatric issue? And then they show up in a covid response vehicle to take a mental health case into isolation! Your story is total garbage. Even the government's response doesn't deny that he's a suspected covid case, but somehow you know more than the government does. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Alhaji1970: Even if we agree to the other stuffs you said, how do you expect us to agree to this? We can all see from the video that the Ambulance is rickety and shouldn't even pass road worthiness test, yet it has the "Covid'19 Rapid Response Inscription" on it. Also, from your write up, you agreed that covid'19 response team were called upon. If they were as solid as you claim they are, Why is it the driver that was sent to the scene? were where the "excellent personnel's"? You're technically contradicting yourself!!! No state will envy the rubbish that happened in that video. 1 Like 1 Share |

The driver wouldn't have gone there without directive from responsible COVID 19 officials. Kwara govt should probe further; who received the distress call? who authorized / approved evacuation? who should have gone with the driver? |
Re: Gov Abdulrazaq Sacks Driver for Careless Handling Of Suspected COVID-19 Patient by Kdon2: 2:13pm On May 14, 2020 |
Alhaji1970: My brother that still lives a lot for people to speculate. Its not the duty of covid-19 vehicle to evacuate homeless man. Its the duty of the police to enforce law and order don't you think. That video gave a wrong impression coupled with the government action. Thanks for the info though. 2 Likes |
