Chloroquine is no longer under any patent , infact it's been a generic item for 60 years so nobody is going to sue pharma for Chloroquine, you should be more worried about Remsidivir which is still on a patent and has common side effect of RESPIRATORY FAILURE..

It is public knowledge that this hydo Chloroquine is being used to cure Covid 19. Anyone who claim ignorance is either not following the trends in the treatment of Covid 19 or is claiming ignorance. For someone to come out of the isolation centre and the first thing to say is that "Our Doctors are professional but they just gave me malaria drugs" is not nice at all.
It's the same doctors he claimed are professionals, that prescribed the ordinary Malaria drugs.
He could ask the doctors while he was there for two weeks the difference between the two or do his research don't forget he is a PhD holder. PhD is not only about the research you carried out but the knowledge and skill to more conduct research and supervise other people too.

I hardly involve my self in social media discussion in fact, I do stay off social media most of the time but now you draw me into this by your view/opinion on Dopesi's irresponsible"questions".
With all sense of modesty, I'm a practicing medical doctor and a senior one for that matter and also one seriously currently battling with managing Covid19 patients and some of its complications.
Currently about delivering a confirmed Covid19 woman.
Also let me inform you that we have lost lots of colleagues who are close friends to Covid19 and its complications and many of them nurses and other health care workers are currently in treatment centres across the country.
I stated the above to let you know how close I'm to issues of Covid19.
Now let me enlighten you here that the antimalarial drug Chloroquine has been known for decades for its antiviral property and is one of several drugs in our armament in managing Covid19. So when administered to a Covid19 patient, it is it antiviral property we are targeting.
Please be informed/reminded that up to 90% of Covid19 patients may be cured without taking medications, in fact a lot may not even know that they contracted the disease. Here the body's immune system would clear the virus.

Am not aware that patients are being prevented from using their phones while they are there.
After He got free treatment (free test, free consultation free drugs and free admission) and was cured by the grace of God, He called a mini press conference to insult our medical professionals and ask stupid questions. If this man was denied test when he called the NCDC or even denied admission to the isolation centre some people would put a political undertone to it, because he is a member of the main opposition party.

It is on record that Raymond Dopkesi told the world that "After isolating himself for the past two weeks he developed Malaria Symptoms and was coughing too" he contacted the National Centre for Disease Control who took his sample and conducted the test and found that he was Covid 19 positive. Raymond Dopkesi should tell us why did he go into isolation in the first place, why did he contact the NCDC if he knew as a Doctor of Mechanical Engineering that he had ordinary Malaria? Why did he go to the Isolation centre to get treated?. How did he and 7 members of his family contract malaria at the same time. I can't wait to watch a mini series on tittled "Maria Pandemic in the Dokpesi's Family" on AIT.

On the treatment of Covid 19 with malaria drugs especially Chloroquine is not odd. The United State president announced the use of Chloroquine for trial in the treatment of Covid 19. Our own NAFDAC also did the same. During that period the demand for Chloroquine tablet was high. The over the counter price of the drug increased in some states by as much as 500%. It is on record that people died of Chloroquine poisoning while taking the drug to prevent Covid 19.
No country in the world have presented a cure for Covid 19 except Madagascar even countries with advancement in conventional and traditional Medicine like China, US, UK, Italy and France are all trying different methods to cure the Virus. People who have recoverd from Covid 19 have given their opinion on what they used while treating the virus. Some have told us black seed oil, Ginger, boiling leaves from Neem tree, honey and other herbal medicine. So if Malaria drugs worked for him, he should thank the Almighty and not question the drugs and treatment he was given by the proffesionalin at the Isolation center. It is a common believe in Nigeria that *Only the Almighty, our creator and sustainer heals not the drug we take*. If the late Abba Kyari was cured by ordinary Malaria drug am sure he and his lived once would be giving God the glory today.
Statement like the one Mechanic Raymond Dopkesi made would bring a setback to the fight against Covid 19. It would not only demoralize our health workers who are putting in hours of shifts away from their family to fight this virus and treat the sick while we stay in the comfort of our homes but is capable of making Nigerian citizens against them.
